Beyond the world of the screen:

  • Have YET to see a spring bear!
  • The house that sat next to the red barn managed to get burned down (shocking!)
  • I did get my car vacuumed out finally.
  • I had a window of opp yesterday to cut the grass, but the husbandman stole the keys to the dollhouse shed.
  • Have listened to the boychilds song about 10 thousand times now. Still not sick of it. Still confused as to how he wrote the song, and was able to hear all of the other instrument sounds to create this piece of magic... because it really is.
  • I always thought he was an Elton John in the making. I really did.
  • Lady PIP-o-lot is doing another Annie performance tonight. I have to say, she did make for a beautiful orphan last night.... says the mother!
  • Glad that last week is over.
  • This one is prooving to be interesting.
  • I took the day off to see the parade on Saturday, now that my friends... is excitement!
  • Do you think that one can have too much flax in a diet. I do not.
  • I got my hair cut last week. So did Ms. Pip-o-lot. Probably not a good thing to do tandom haircuts... I was focused on the scissors that kept attacking the girls hair, and not mine. The girl scissoring up Ms. Pip-0-lots hair probably wished to attack me... can't have someone layering up a girls hair that can not manage it on her own... now the mother is responsible for "the look of the day", which has become way more challenging, now that there are layers FALLING out everywhere!
  • Learning curves can be a good thing... re: above!
  • I walked in circles around the track this morning. I listened to the boys song. I was worried that I hadn't walked long enough. 75 minutes later. AND... I had one of those lane chasers right next to me. HATING that. You are walking all on your lonesome, and then there they are.... you know the ones.. the ones that keep pace with you. I do not know where he finally ended up... there was a large group of people that all somehow converged around into the corner, and people were almost bumping!
  • Talked to the music teacher... she said the best thing that I never did for my boy was ground him. I thanked her...! She said that was the turning point in his musical self... she said it was from that moment that he came back a changed boy, with music in his heart. Mind you, that was a couple of years ago .... he got grounded... but he will be forever changed because of it. ( I took away all his gadgets, except for YOUTUBE, and that was where he started learning piano songs by the dozen!)
  • So, back to the haircut... it's a good haircut, but on the wrong person. How is that? A whole screaming whack of hair fell out of my head a number of months ago, and now it is growing back. Of course it isn't growing back with my original darkish colour, but I will give it credit for growing back Thanks!... in the meanwhile, the "hair-don't" is looking all wild like (shocking... when isn't it wild like, can't really tell)... so she cut some more off the front (as in bangs)... and NOW... all it does is lay WRONG. wrong, wrong wrong. Now I have a cotton ball on the front of my head. Seriously. It takes a lot of work to get this cotton ball to stop being a cotton ball... it's almost like chopping off a cute little rabbits tail!
  • It can not rain.. I must go cut the front lawn.
  • Have been enjoying watching the eagles "out there".. although some of the nests have gone astray, or fallen during the winter/spring storms. All the same, the familiar sounds of squealing chicks are taking up the audio on the computers each and every morning. Very delightful!
  • OK.. and the very fact that I am walking on a cloud with the boysons achievements, I have now had some feedback that this musical talents, are in fact talents....
  • OH... lucky me.. I am watching an eagle soaring at this exact moment.
  • Planted up the perrenials... they have liked the warm wet and then cold weather.. being all weed like and such! It has still been too cold to start the annuals... maybe another week or so...then I can colour up a STORM!
  • Day is slipping by... must go catch it!

A Thousand Miles

Verse 1:
When I,
   When I look into her eyes,
    I can see the starry skies,
   masking as an Angel in disguise.

When I,
    No longer see the rain,
    Feel no sorrow and no pain,
    I know that she's around again

Chorus:
I would,
    I would walk a thousand miles
Just for,
    Just for one little smile
I would,
    Just for one little smile.

Verse 2:
 When they,
     Ask me about my love,
     Well I say,
      That she's a cut above.

When the,
     Sun shines it shines for you,
     And when the world turns it turns for you

Chorus 2:
She's my,
     She's my light in the dark
      She's the,
      she's the shine and the spark,
      She holds,
      she holds the key to my heart.

Almost 12 hours ago...

I was milling about in the darkness... sitting with the laptop.

Now I am mingling in the daylight.... workin the PC.

See.. satisfied with the mundane... day or night.

what would i like??

i think i would like some almond milk... oh yes i would.

The rain is drizzling, the house is all quiet, with the exception of someone doing some loud sleeping, and me doing doing some clicking. I can hear the trains motoring thru the night, and a diesal truck finding it's way to somewhere....

My next location will be the den... where the television of excitement is... that will for sure lull me into some sort of comatose state. I wish hockey was on right now... that would surely have me drifting off nicely.

Have just been to facebook world... and holy creepers most everybody is quite excited. Well... with one exception.... moi! Clearly I have a sickness about hockey... a certain dislike attitude, a rather strong aversion, almost similar to the skunk like smell that lingered about last evening. My favourite part of the game is the last three seconds!

In things that are almost happening:

The boy is almost willing to go on camera for me to record him playing the piano. DONT mistake this as a shy guy that doesn't wish to play in front of the masses, or doesn't like the all eyesbulbs on him.... quite the opposite... so I am getting closer in my attempts... now I just need to find the little digital!

The Pippy makes a good orphan! I saw her in her costume yesterday.... with her hair all a flub, and badly matched clothing... she looked good. One thing... how do we do orhpan make up...? Will have to ask that of somebody... now sure who.

Alright moving onto the television now!

good evening fellow readers

It's good to be here tonight!

Although it's a bit late.. the PIP and I are watching SUPERSWARM. Very cool I say !

There is an actual thing called 'bug burgers'... for real... but count me out.... they are not for me, even though they have seven times the amount of protein than in a regular beef burger. Still can't sell me!

Best stop here.... don't like typing on the laptop... I am notorious for writing, and then somehow hilighting and then deleting all in one millisecond...

right PIP... right.... PIP... where did you go... did I just erase you now too???

the Inn at Lake Devine

Finally! What a lovely and predictable book. I liked the characters, I liked the story, it didn't go on tooooo long, it was a pleasant read.. all 272 pages! AND even better.. it's for the book club.. which isn't until next week.. so I am free to start a new quest! From the stack ten million miles high! (In the meantime... I might need to take notes... I will absolutely forget who was who in the zoo by next week!).

So... here's the thing...

I stole something... again!

A BC BLOGGER button... just because...

But then I decided to delete other things.... and now I wish to add some other junk.

Not sure what yet.

I would like to see my years gone into one little section, and can't seem to manage to do that.

So, in an effort to change things up a bit.. I stole a button, yes, that is what I did.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

the girl whispered to the boy....

Be very careful JimmyDean, Momda might have just gone a little over that big deep edge.
JimmyDean crept around the corner, and with his long legged ways tip toed into the den... where I was sitting eyeing him suspiciously and of course watching the last moments of Chris Carter, yet another Global TV guy that I love... sorry Mark... love you too, but I must spread my loving worshipness around...

JimmyDean tells me that he should be very careful, he thought maybe I would start telling him weird stories and calling out random orders of business. When I did just that, he breathed a sigh of relief... I was still in fact me, and clearly not on "that" edge that the sister claimed I was on.

In other things humorous:

I haven't been paid since January for my community work. How strange. There seems to be a bit of silent uprising because of this... and yet nobody has come to me yet with either a cheque or an explanation.

JimmyDean desperately needs to learn some piano music... in his pleading tones, and dramatic ways he comes to me yesterday evening and begs..."can't you just get me another lesson.. just one more lesson... I NEED ANOTHER LESSON.... YOU know how much I can learn in JUST ONE LESSON!!!"  His eyes were all crazed and he was fidgetylike... I think he is suffereing from a case of "piano-crack". Poor JimmyDean.

Fussilina reminded me yesterday that today would be two months since "Till" departed our homestead... "oh".. says me... I am liking our new "till"... she sports around the house wearing two jingles, leaves little hair, and we don't need to worry about getting her outside, AND, we don't need to worry about feeding her... AND, if we forget about her for a day... she doesn't seem to mind either. The old "Till" and the new "Till" are very much the same in that they are very silent... except when moving around the home, and that is when the jingling can be heard. The added bonus is the fact that we can now THROW this Till around... the other Till we couldn't pick up... if we did, she would apply magnets to her feet and make it impossible to pick her up... not even sure why averagelyjoesane-ish people wish to pick up their german shepherd dogs... but sometimes it must be done...

I went out and moved some plants around in the front yard yesterday... I am feeling the need to purchase some more magic...I need them to be perrenials, and preferrably ones that do not look like dandelions!

In dramatic issues:

My Tim Hortons isn't tasting so TimHortonish.
JimmyDean wishes to go see the play at his highschool (the wedding singer). JimmyDean is his own schoolplay.
Fusslinas play (annie) will be acted out this month... clearly our 25 dollars worth of ugly purchases of clothing and boots were not ugly enough, and she must purchase more ugliness for the play. I am thinking not... maybe I will take a match and burn the semi-ugly sweater and lessly ugly blouse into a firey mess... that will clearly make them much uglier, and of far better performance value.

In issues that are confusing to me, and which I NEED SOME ADVICE!

Should I wash my car, or not....?

Almost everyday I make my way down to the bear location... I am on the MAD hunt for some spring photos of my black beauties... and yet I must drive down a dusty and mucky road for a short distance to see them... so what is the point... I wish it to be indigo blue and lovely and shiney... but my love for the perfect photo is really high upon the wishing list... what to do what to do....?

As always... clearly, deeply, semi-crazy!

Gonzo!

Report just in... things that are gone:
  • The RED barn pictured below!
  • Laundry off the laundry room floor!
  • The SEWING MACHINE clutter off the kitchen counter!
  • The family has left for the day!
  • My green waste container... (which I am looking forward to filling again!)
  • The black blobs down in the fields.... (haven't even seen a spring one yet!)
  • One of my favourite blogs....!
Better stop there... the list could be endLIST! HA!

So yes... about that red barn.... so strange. I LOVED that barn... I really did. It was just so perfect sitting in the back of the field... doing nothing but aging beautifully.. and now there isn't a remnent left of a red barn. (I STOLE the milk can in the KNICK of time... because last week it was all boarded up... so I am thankful that I took pictures before that disaster happened, and now this week... that the RED BARN is no more!)

This week in excitement involves the fact that THEY have made new episodes of "say yes to the dress". YOU have to love that!

AND AND AND... I did take a vacation day to go to a seminar on Saturday.. so smilingly will not be working both days this weekend.. but will still be in the same location anyways.. going to a seminar!

I must start planning out the flower situation for the yard... on top of cleaning up the yard, on top of trimming the yard, on top of removing the evil "not morning glory but behaves like morning glory" plant life that is growing all around the perimeter of my yard.... this work MUST be done between rain storms... which are kind of arriving this week... so says my favourite mark madryga.

AND AND AND AND... must check on the eaglets situation that is happening all around me,... including on this computer screen, and down on the dyke. it makes for a busy one!

OK... over and out.

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Nothing says spring like:

  • the sound of a pressure washer going for hours and hours!
  • sheets hanging on the clothesline
  • weed preparations making their presence
  • finding my hummingbird juice!
  • the dandelion picker is in constant use
In other things even more spring like & very exciting:

  • I spied on three eagles nests yesterday
  • there is a presence of large black bloblike objects moving about
  • the crow family is not using our tree for a nest
  • there are bigger and better runner sales!
  • the sun was hugely warm yesterday, and will be increasing in strength today!

Today in history:

Which didn't make it in some of the ON-LINE historythingys....

Terry Fox started his cross Canada run on April 12 in St. John's Newfoundland (from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific Coast) for Cancer research, which was called "Marathon of Hope", (at the time he had hoped to raise one dollar for each of the 24 million Canadians).

To date there has been just about 500 millions dollars raised.

I guess this information didn't make it into ON-LINE history... I should have googled "Canada's HEROES" instead.

Sporting this:

An unfinished dress... (just simply can't be bothered!)
A new OLD milkcan, freshly TAKEN from a red barn.
No cell phone, gave it to the boy, where the boy left it at the GF's house.
That's a problem.
Bad hair!
Which is always the case, and generally a problem.
Two children with colds, the eldest went to the school.
The youngest didn't.
She might... as she has pizza fixings to prepare with her partner.
A great read that needs to be accomplished.
An almost an anniversary to celebrate... OK, maybe not... how about recognize.
THANKFUL there isn't freaking HOCKEY.
Found some summer runners I wish to buy, mind you .. they wont be $20.00 cheaper this week, so maybe I won't buy them.
Straighter glasses. Had those lenscrafters people turn their back on me, and straighten them yet again... I am just not certain what exactly they do when they straighten them... but they are always straighter when they are put back on my face. Hmmmm.

That is all.

8 degrees

That is what the temperature outside that the car keeps telling me what it is...

It has to be, cause the car says so.

I just can't figure out HOW I WAS ABLE to go walking in a thin yoga jacket and pants when it was:

2 degrees.

It had to be, cause the car told me so.

And from what I know... my little Indigo Blue Mazda5 doesn't lie!

I might... but the car doesn't.

BUT I am not lying when I say that I walked in 2 degree weather.

ALTHOUGH I will claim that I was senseless and more than likely almost frozen...

BECAUSE I am frozen now, in 6 more degrees of warmth.

How can that be people... HOW?

In other things:

The boy had to get himself up and organized for school this am, minus and ADULT to tell him to wake up, get ready, and go to school.... and that to me is a larger question at the moment...

How can THAT be people... HOW????

Will find out later if he was successful... because the automated tattling system will call me... that's how!

TODAY is the day

  1. That I finish the "lilypad dress"
  2. Colour this "do" of mine!
  3. Take some photos.
  4. Do the laundry... hey what gives... that ALWAYS makes it on this list!
  5. Find some cream for my coffee.
  6. Might even buy some groceries!
  7. DIG some books out of Miss Pippy's room for "my friend Kim"
  8. Colour my hair
  9. Colour my hair
  10. AND... last but not LEAST... colour the hair.
In other adventures:

I almost finished the dress yesterday... but decided to "take off" and flit around the streets of PoCo, listening to my ipod... so if YOU spotted someone pludging about at the speed of turtle... it was all me people!

We trundled over to my fab-tab-ulous mothers house for a turkey dinner. She was fit to be certain that she wished to make a turkey dinner... I will ask her today whether that will be her choice again to undertake such endeavours again... OH.. and then her tap broke, and Mr Silent fixitman was sitting at home watching his hockey game... so he couldn't even help out.

Feels strange to be home here.. on a Monday...so that is the reason my hair looks so crazy... no wait.... that is not the reason, my hair is crazy on any given day.

Must get cracking as my oumph is lacking!

Sunday, April 04, 2010

Flying times..

I miss arriving here daily... where I have been.. but NOWHERE...  so I am not certain why I haven't made time for my daily chats... because YOU PEOPLE that know me... KNOW that I am in constant communicado with myself ... enough so that I look like a crazy person that is always talking to themselves.

I have a large solution for that.... I think I am going to wear not ONE but TWO bluetoothes! That way I can continuously have my stream of consciousness out there for the world to hear... and yet still look like I have some semblance of order settled in my life.

That might just work.

I can't believe my lack of wordiness that has evolved. Perhaps I am just involved, which has left with me disolved for wordy narration!

So:

Spring has sprung, and so has springbreak!

We went to Alice in Wonderland last Thursday... with Johnny Depp in 3D. Very cool. I don't see many movies on the bigscreen... and this was a must see! Perhaps it was the 3D that caught my eye! HA!

My 12-15 people grew to 23 last Monday. Clearly I need some help in my ability to count heads!

Also... the Rainbow Butterfly restaurant was cool... went there for DimSum... that was an experience.... I went there with my former walking buddies! The Pippy and I ended up doing errand shopping ... which was all good... especially when errand shopping can be done so close to home...! BUT THEN... the sister called me later and wished for me to yet again join her in her most favourite of locations to visit: Walmart! (ick ick double ick!). BUT THIS TIME: we were tricked. There wasn't bedlam and chaos and constant overhead pages, and bad music and screaming children, and badly stocked shelves... and to end a successful of all successful Walmart shopping trips... there were not line ups ten miles deep... but rather... an open and empty line up. Stunned, shocked, amazed and silenced... can there really be a next time???

I FINALLY got the nice rims put back on the Mazda5.... it just isn't my little Mazda5 without the pretty rims... with those silly BLACK rimmed snow tire thingys!

We went off to the Aquarium on Wednesday. That was pretty fun... JimmyDean and his Lady Miss ScrumptiousTea, and the Pippydoll and myself. On the way home we stopped off, and toured the downtown eastside... we had to take a double tour, just to find a home to a bunch of coats that came from my closet. Myself and JimmyDean walked up to a bunch of people standing on the street and asked if they needed them... everything was whooshed out of our hands, and more importantly a brand NEW backpack was ripped from Mr. JimmyDeans piano hands like NO tomorrow. Glad to know that we made someones day. OH.. prior to that we visited a restaraunt.... where I went to go wash my hands, and put my really in need of hair colouring bad do back in order... which is where I see a youngish lady fixing her hair. Me, being not the silent type at times told her that her hair looked great.. and how about trading! She then says to me that she is depressed, has had a bad day, doesn't feel that she looks good, and makes $35,000.00 dollars a year, the least in her office. Hmmm... well...I being Deanna offered her up some instant advice.... so , once you are done in the restaraunt, know that you look good (to a complete stranger), go enjoy the beautiful afternoon spring air, and take a brisk walk, breathe deeply, and blow away your troubled thoughts... and once you have done that maybe you will have to start thinking about a way to make more money within your office, or find a new job... good luck to you..... I said to the dark haired woman as I left the bathroom. OK.. lesson number 4756 "do not talk to strangers".

Thursday I attended my NEW stroke group. I like the way I WRITE that I attended it... that is how I feel at the moment... like I have no qualifying statement that I belong... BUT... I was given the keys to the church to open the doors. OK.. how funny is that... Deanna running a program from the basement of a church.... ?? I wonder if it is OK to scream HOLY flying fruitbats in my head...?

Friday was d-day... "d-day I started d-dressssss". Miss Pippydolls Royal Party MayDay dress... and MAYDAY is what I should have started shrieking from the start. I ironed and ironed and ironed it.. and it is still wrinkled... AND... I am not even sure if I have made the dress with the right sides of the wrong sides together... there has been a lot of thought put into that one...AND that my friends is the problem.. I have put a lot of thought into this dress... and it is not turning out to my satisfaction.... I am just not happy with it.. of course I am also worry that it isn't going to fit... wherein "that will be a a problem"... Saturday also took up a great part of dress making.... all because I wished to line the dress... which changes things altogether... so here I am .. Sunday morning, with a dress half done... which MUST BE FINISHED TODAY.

Miss Pippy stayed at my moms last night.. which destroyed her chances at diving into chocolate trails this morning... being that she is almost 13 (aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!), and yet still very much in tune with the "great things in life"... I assured her that the Easter Bunny had still left her a little something, and that her friend Harold the Monkey was holding on tight to it....

JimmyDean doesn't exactly care about trails of chocolate, but wished to just have something of goodness handed to him... which is what he will get. He will like that I am sure.... I am such a good Easter Bunny!

Alright.... it's a good feeling to have finished the book... (which everyone must read!), and now it's time for the dress!

A BOOK!

Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons by Norna Landvik.

So guess what! I finally was able to read a book! That sounds like such a feat.. and I guess it is one... but to finish a book, and enjoy it, well that is a feat and a half!

This is exactly as the book depicts by the title, and the picture. This is pure fiction in it's finest! This book SUCKS you in on the first page... so that you are stuck reading it till the end. FOR ONCE, that didn't bother me!

Mind you... it has taken me weeks upon weeks to finish.

(OH... and I attended last months book club, while NOT reading the book!... AND by the sounds of things it probably wasn't a bad one to miss...
while I appreciate a classic, I believe in telling stories by way of movieland... which is what I will stick to: we read Emma by Jane Austin)

Monday, March 29, 2010

Happy Monday!

On the list of things to do today:

  • DARN it all anyway... I have to go out for lunch! How nice is that!
  • I WISH to cut and sew the girls MayDay dress TODAY.
  • How does laundry always make it on the list?
  • Write and mail some letter to the Mayors!
Let me see... the easiest and simplest of tasks will be undertaken....

In other things:

That JimmyDean son of mine surprised me by playing a new song on the piano... get this..."A whole lotta shakin goin on... by Elvis...no wait... what's the name of it...I can't think of it this second.... but it's a zippy little number with big piano in it.... YOU know the one! (I guess I will have to get back to you on that).

I was down at the bear location... and the park manager guy and his wife have retired... now there will be replacement lodge keepers... I would love to live down there... must remember to ask the husbandman if we can go live down at the lodge, amongst the bears... deer, beavers and coyotes... it would be kinda cool!

OH... my friend Kim and I were talking... we decided that we do not want to know of ONE MORE person leaving on a plane to go to either Hawaii or Mexico. We are not interested, we don't want to hear it, we just don't care. WE have decided that we are the only TWO families left in CANADA that are not going anywhere! (EVER!) It's a good thing I got those passports!

In other even more useless details that make me chuckle! My boy wrote on my facebook status a while back that popcorn was my crack. I think he was right. I love the stuff... can't get enough of it. Now that I have given up the "white death" as I LOVE to call it... (breads, pastas, rice (all kinds!), noodly things, crackers, sugar, cakes, cookies, well... almost anything that is delectable!)... my most precious moments of happiness is my popcorn! I can add to anything I wish... and if I wish for olive oil and parmesean cheese... then so be it! So yesterday... I am driving home... with the girl... and I make a pitstop to collect some gas which is 11 cents cheaper.. when I decided I can not drive for ONE MORE second if I do not get my beloved popcorn! So I bought a bag of "old dutch" premium white cheddar popcorn.... and got my fix. I am so addicted. I didn't give a FAT CRACK ass how many chemicals it had in it... at least I had my fluffy whitestuff!

My boy-son JimmyDean asked the question of "what if the kernels were of semi-mediocre qualtiy with only occasional kernels popped"... is there such a popcorn? Yes, I told him... the popcorn gets ground up and added to rice cereal, and we feed it to our babies, as their very first food... and that is how the popcorn addiction really starts.

BUT you know... after this chemicalized bag of popcorn comes to an end... I might have to re-invest in such devineness....one can not duplicate this taste by simply plugging in their hot air popcorn maker. Perhaps I will go to the hardware store and buy some industrial strength chemicals for GAWD knows what, and add that to my popcorn... I think only then will I have mastered this old dutch taste!

Well... must run!

oh me oh my

So, yes about that disappearing act.

I am still me.
Husbandman spoke to me the other day, AGAIN!
The handsome one Gramericason has been renamed: Jimmy Dean.
BECAUSE.
That is my answer to that.
The Fussilina is still Fussilina Pipenza girl.
BECAUSE she is just so beautiful.
That's why.

So far the handsome one has taken to the name Jimmy Dean. It's just such a great name, one that Mr. Jimmy Dean owns very well.

I had an email conversation with his math teacher. I very politely asked/suggested that she does not call attention to Mr. Jimmy Dean, as that is an open invitation to walk right up onto center stage with a red carpet and all. She complained to me that with his antics he tends to turn the class upside down, or something like that. I suggested that she just not speak with him, or give him any notice.... that way his opening statement to her couldn't be (in his deep showman voice)... "but Ms. Cho, I was discussing mathematics here with my friend...." Mr. Jimmy Dean has relinquished some of his behaviours to me. I pity the poor woman for putting up with him.

In things that are not a shock:

His report card from the "rockschool" teacher... "an excellent musician, and an enjoyable student to have in class"

I bet the math teacher just might SPIT at the music teacher if she found out!

The PIPPY had a LINE stolen out from under her in the play "annie". She was heart broken and in tears... (OK... for a girl... this girl doesn't spill many tears....)... AND AND AND... when she got into the car the other day, with a heave and a sigh she told me the sad tale. SHE EVEN went as far as used her hands to talk as well... now as far as I know ... it's only me and Jimmy Dean that use our hands a lot when we talk. BUT THE FUSS... not so much. BUT because the little chickster is just so KIND... she said that she didn't wish to upset the applecart, and she was certain that "they" had taken away her "5 seconds of fame" where she was the only one singing on stage at that moment, for a reason. I gave the PIPPY DOLL an extra hug, squeeze, bite and a punch for that amount of level headedness.

I still need to put together a dress.
Right.
I still need to hand out all the Cancer Donation kits.
Right.
I still need to write a bunch of letters.
Right.
I still need to book some transportation.... and such....
Right.
Colouring my hair is now in question.
Right.
The lawn is growing, and in need of repair.
Right.
I'm out of coffee.
uh-oh.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Guess what!

  • I love love love drinking coffee out of my very favourite cup that my friend gave me!
  • I believe some of the frizziness is growing out of my hair!
  • The husbandman spoke in sentences to me...!
  • I have been doing some daily visits to bear central!
  • I haven't seen any bears!
  • My laundry is piling up!
  • and I don't care!!
  • It's almost time to take the snowtires off!
  • AND get the spring flowers on the roll!
  • AND figure out what the lawn is in need of...
  • AND try and persuade the mole to leave our backyard
  • Maybe find some new pants.
  • Hopefully have some success with that.
  • Dig out my pressure washer! (love love love like the coffee cup!)
  • Spend some time with my resistance bar thingy.
  • Figure out where to put my FOUR black bags for both my stroke groups.
  • Back to watching the eagles on Live! TV, and Lily the blackbear....
  • Maybe it's just time for me to do the laundry...
  • Must charge my ipod/muscial maker thingy.
  • Resist calling telus to adopt an iphone!
  • Sign the papers to seal the deal on the taxes that are done!
  • BUT first.... I best start with another cup of coffee....
  • BECAUSE I love my coffee cup...

Annnddd... something messed up.

I wrote a quick little story the other day,... and it is not here.. where could it be....?

Down at the bear location where I like to be??

I saw a regular with his camera in hand...

Riding along and searching the land.

He has not seen them, but knows they are there...

Soon to be falling out of the hidden groves, for all of us to oogle and stare!

What what...

What the heck?

Why do I disappear somedays....?

I am charging camera batteries that's why.

TALKING to little lady pip,

AND listening to the boy play his abundance of music.

WHO can walk away from that sort of thing?

Not I I say.

I finally got the thumbs up on the chicken sale. Not that I was going to do anything special with it.. I just wanted some chicken...

Get this!

 So today.... somebody asked me my weight.... and in a fit of laughter and excitement I revealed the actual number, and not a virtual number. It was quite an exciting adventure says the little bit less fatter lady!

OH, and in other big word adventures.... here's a fun something:

" I made a mistake.

When baking a cake.

I heard my mom start to yell.

When she hear the firebell.

Then I knew I was in trouble.

When my house turned to rubble."

This poem brought to you by "the pip"... congrats pip on a great poem!

It all started with a ...

BLUE SKY!

However..... Mark Madryga & Kristy Gordan have warmed us otherwise....

The day will not be so blue for long....

I love blue skies, it doesn't matter if I am subjected to the foreboding of grey coming my way....

Coffee's done, and say yes to the dress is on... now that is a good way to start the day, beneath the blue skies!

What's in the bowl Deanna?

snowpeas
shrimp
red peppers
water chestnuts
mini corns
carrots
broccoli

AND I put some in the husbandmans bowl too.

Because I am generous.

The PIP eyed the shrimp, and the other various colours, she thought it was pretty.

The BOY ran away screaming, which is why he gets the multivitamin.

So that is how it is on this lovely Wednesday early evening.

Springalingding

OK spring... spring already.

I must get my camera out of its bag, and back into my hands.

It quite potentially could be BEAR season!

Wasn't that a party!

Wow... those Olympics are done!

A contender in the medals department.

Canada did an amazing job at collecting them.

I am thinking that Vancouver did a fine job of hosting them.

I visited the big city, but really saw nothing.

Loved the energy.

So glad to have seen it!

Whatever it was that I saw...

one so good, the other not so...

Anil's Ghost by Micheal Ondaatje... a difficult read, and not so good.

The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill ...
 very good, based on history, but written as fiction.

uh oh.....

So.. the boy came home the other day.... with a swollen and damaged right index finger.

Ooops, that doesn't look good.

Yesterday.... he calls me.... "maybe take me to the doctor...." that boy of mine suggested.

OK... said that mother of his.

Walkin clinic first, and then emergency department second....

Reason being...  somebody could read that xray immediately, and let us know what's up with that boys finger.

Today I am calling the orthopedic surgeons office... for a follow up.

Seems kinda strange.. that such a little eency weency little tidbit on an xray could potentially change the course of ones life.

The emerg doc said bandage it up, don't use it for TWO weeks, and it should come out alright.

UHM.... said the mother... "should?".....

Well.... said the emerg doc... it might not heal properly, you might lose flexibility, you probably will be left with an enlarged knuckle, .... I stopped hearing at that point.

Uhmmm.... said the mother....

"this boy plays the piano......" I said to the emerg doc.

"Oh... so is he a prodigy, or a Mozart?... " he asks.

"not quite a prodigy, and maybe Mozarts long forgotten cousin..., but all the same, this is going to affect his game...." says the excitable mother.

Yes... will be calling the orthos office... for a speck of a piece of bone, that is attached to a speck of a piece of cartilage, that could just have a HUGE impact on the outcome of this boys piano playing abilities....

Sit down on your seats people

YOU might think this as strange...

Well, maybe not...

OK, CHEESUS you just might think it as semi-odd....

BUT to me/us this is dealing with heartache after the Till departed our world.

On Saturday I went down to the Olympics.

It was all good timing, as my friend called me, I said sure, and away I went.

The girl had a mall/sleep over birthday party to get to (which BTW she, in midst of drying her tears over the dog asked the parents... "which one of you two people can get it together to take me to my party....? I am all sad too, and I need to get places...")

The boy had marched out of the house prior to the husbandman taking "The Till", and I  had a split second to open the door and yell out to him... "Have you said good-bye to Till?" (We always have said good-bye to Till, and we always tell her to be good... not sure why... but it's something we do...perhaps I should call that number in my back pocket 1-800-psy-cchh)... I made the boy come back for my phone... can't have the 15 year old unleased in the world without any sort of connection. Call it over-protective, call it "like OMG let him be", (wait .. he would like to be called "let it be" that beatles boy of mine!), I just remind him that it is "love" that is making me do this. This way... he had a chance to say good-bye to "Miss Ellpee", whew close call on that one.. if he had been a few more steps.. he would have just kept going...

The husbandman said he was going to take the roof off his jeep... and so I  excitedly asked if he was going to drive anywhere, and he said no.. (what the hell! I am the wife turned best buddy german shepherd.. take me on an adventure, and buy me a coffee... I'll be your best friend..., but no, that did not happen... so like any good wife would do.. I left too).

So there I am ... driving in Surrey.. and I don't have FREAKING clue where "my friend Kim" lives. Not a clue. I drive over the Patullo bridge, and then break off on Scott Road ( I was letting my instincts guide me, as I have been to her house probably 4 or 5 times...), and then after that I was kinda lost. I haven't had coffee, I've just eaten turkey pepperoni, some for me, and some for what I would have given the dog, I'm drinking pink crystal light, I have my sunglasses on to hide the dark circles, I don't have a cell phone, and I am lost. Luck would be on my side at that moment, as I decided to turn around... because I know "my friend Kim" didn't live near to River Road... and then I spotted it... something from the past, something not easily found any longer... A PHONE BOOTH! I took a package of my casino wipes with me.. and wiped down the receiver, touched the buttons with only the wipey thing, and made the call... and because I am thankful that "my friend Kim" doesn't insist on the highest level of phone security.... she was able to take the call from an unknown caller... big WHEW....

Lucky for me.. I wasn't too far gone, and managed to find her house in lickety split timing.

The next thing I find myself in some persons car, being dropped at a skytrain station, asking "my friend Kim" how where we going to find our way home, and HOLY SHIT I can't LOSE you... ! AND by the time we made it downtown, it was really more HOLY HOLY HOLY crapcakes... I really can't lose you... I'll never find my way back to North Delta, because I could barely find it in the first place, and now I would have to rely on trains & buses, minus a cell phone.... I asked her if we could be girlfriends for the day, and hold her hand... because there was a complete sea of red swimming along the streets.. and I was going to be doomed if I stepped out of line for a singular moment.

"My friend Kim" had a rather LARGE complaint about me... just the mere fact that she didn't recognize the newish me any longer and wasn't used to looking for LESS of a person when she scanned the crowd for lost souls....

Eventually I returned to the homeland... late late at night... where the husbandman informed me that throughout different parts of the day, he had managed to still hear "The Till" walking about the house, and hearing her jingles rattle.

Well... I opted for swimming with a sea of people instead, probably was a good thing.

And so today...

being a beautiful BRIGHT super SUNNY Monday!

Is absolutely lovely!

I can still see the lovely fresh cut lines from the back lawn being mowed on Friday, of course they look like frozen lines along the grass... because that is exactly what it is... lovely and cold.

I have a couple of small FEATS to perform....

Like read a book for the book club on Wednesday.

(THIS IS A MUST!) I "believe" my bottom end it gonna grow over the next two days... because this book is KINDA big... and I am going to have to sit for a great number of hours to get this job done.

AND...in the event that I am completely failing to read my book I know I will resort to my next hot ticket item: I must figure out a way of getting this family on a vacation. A hot destination point. Something tropical. Something that involves taking planes, or ships, or using our passports and our tax returns. You know, something extremely useful!

In the meantime... I will mail away the fusspots camera battery... you know.. just in case we need to use her camera or something.

Sunday, February 21, 2010

so some things were lies...

I lied about the grass.

I cut it... front lawn, and back.

Hauled out the lawnmower, and with shear determination set forth... I cut the freaking lawn.... even though the lawnmower didn't want to start.. and about 100 pulls later... the lawnmower finally started.

Mole trenched and all.... it was off roading at it finest!

It was a beautiful day... winter olympics and all... me and "the till" set out to cut the back lawn... because you know... that's what you do in BC in February...

Little Miss Till Till meandered about.. checking out the sights... doing what she loves the best.

She sat in her favourite hole she has been digging in the summertime, checked out the dogs still next door, and got stuck trying to get back up onto the deck, checked out the dogs in the back corner, and spied the squirrel tunnel, gathered her tennis balls, did her regular refridgerator interval check, sat in her house for a bit, stared at me from the great double doors, layed in her favourite spot next to the house, sniffed her blue lawn chair, checked out her wicker basket that was sitting baking in the cool afternoon sun, walked past a couple of her left over bones, sniffed through the cedar trees, spied a lost soccer ball, she ate some left over christmas stuffing, watched me rake up the endless needles from the ugly trees, I tied her to her favourite rope at the front steps, she got to watch the world go by on the beautiful Friday afternoon, we had a good day getting things done,  and Saturday she was gone.

Bye Till... we will miss your needy dog ways... "everywhere you go... needy dog goes..everywhere you slow, needy dog slows, open the door that you try to close, try to cross the street and needy dog shows"

lazy factor

As I was out and about yesterday.... what did I spy..?

Many grass cutters out there!

Yes people... it's the winter olympics in Vancouver BC.... and we are ALL in need of cutting our lawns, and fixing up our yards!

I am confident that a certain someone would have a BIG BIRD if I were to haul out the lawn mower and give the lawn a manicure.

So instead I will wash walls and windows... because you know... opening the doors to the great outside and staring at the grass will certainly aid in the lazy factor..

Random thoughts for a SUNNY Thursday.

Jefferson Airplane?

Bachman Turner Overdrive?

Van Morrison?

Meatloaf?

Electric Light Orchestra?

Stevie Ray Vaughn?

These are just some of the titles I have found on a piece of paper.... which is all being filtered into a certain someones 32 gb ipod. Mr Gramericason ....do you have any answers for me?

Tic TAC attack.

I have been eating  TIC TACs for about two weeks.

It has been heavenly... lovely white sparky balls of goodness.

YESTERDAY I indulged with some green spearmint tic tacs. They were lovely green pellets of happiness.

THIS evening I have downed a container.... and it looks like I am needing a second...

I believe I am suffering from a Tic Tac Attack.

Scarey business here people... very scarey business.

(Included in this very scarey business would be the fact that the PIP and I just finished her math homework... and there is the UNwritten rule in this homeland... that I do not help her with her homework)....

Perhaps I should have an alcohol attack instead... as we have both come out of this alive!

what is 23 times 45 ?

steps.

What an idiot!

I have a perfectly well used and completely almost ruined stair stepper out the back, and around the side, conveniently hidden from view which I have tried to give away....

BUT... I drive to the track, which houses 45 stairs.... just so I can potentiate the risk of falling down the stairs after I get bored and tired AND start to not pay attention to what I am doing.

I think I am going to have to come up with a re-investment strategy.

The problems with prance

You see... we have this stuffed dog. SHE rules our life. ALL of OUR lives. Somedays she just out there doing things....

AS required by Olympic laws

The toques HAD to be blue and green, with white ponchos.
The spirit was unbelievably CANADIAN cool.

WE are HERE

Miss Pipenza and her schools choir, as well as other schools around the district sang at the Torch Relay this morning. It was an exciting event... even for a non-plussed-but-kind-of-maybe Olympics person.

A bust!

Bra shopping... that was a bust.

Tried on a big bunch of bras... like a dozen... and wasn't happy with any of them.

What's the deal with that?

OH.. and how is it that one can lose pretty much 60 pounds... and you still wear the same size.

I am a bad bra shopper girl.

OH.. and in things that are fun...

The PIP became a PRINCESS again. Her name was drawn out of a hat for the royal MayDay party ... yae PIP!

AND the boy... he is busy playing For Play Long Time by Boston. Now that is a scarey piece of music.... or should I say unbelieveably difficult....

letters, letters, letters...

So I am going to write letters to people that I am asking for things... and more things, and even more things...I want it all, and I want it for FREE!

My friend is going to write letters to the editor about the idoticness of this human race, and their complete failure to abide by what is asked of them.

My sister is yelling at people in pool change rooms when the showering woman SPITS... and the sister yells "HAE!...that is a rude and disgusting habit, the sign says NO SPITTING, so DON'T SPIT!!!!"

(Not sure what this new age of spitting has been caused from... but it's here...)

WELL.. onto other adventures greater than my mind....

Adventures in ...

I have no adventures... did ONE of you really think that I would come up with some sort of adventure... to even make noteworthy... let alone write about.. oh you silly folks.

BUT..

I am going to buy a new BRA this week. That should be an adventure.

I am going to watch the girl sing with 550 other kids in the choir at the Olympic torch festivities on Thursday. That should be an adventure.

I believe that somehow I was going to go up Grouse Mountain this week. That should be an adventure.

I might be able to see someone famous this week. That should be an adventure.

See.. by the END of the week, I might have had some adventures...

So all of you out there in the great big world... hold your breathe... because I am going on an adventure.

Nothing better than to be in the midst of a new adventure with a NEW BRA!

green onions are back

The boy has come up with playing some evil clown music, and some stuffed dog music. If there is such a thing. But you know... if anyone can come up with stuffed dog music... it would be this household... namely the boy.

LATEST adventures in Grammy World would be his famous MOM DANCING. One day when I get ONE of the many zillions of cameras that his household owns back from the camera fixing place back in ONTARIO.... I will video him.... it's all scarey.

Otherwise... he dances around this homestead... like a soulman.... and looking like my buddy Prince William... but he is not like that... he is really "back in the New York groove.."

I haven't taken any pictures... perhaps illness has set in.. like I am sick in the brain illness... it hasn't been without wanting... just so THE WORLD knows that.

Look at that!

The sunrise...  beneath the clouds that hovers snuggly along the horizon.

Some one should take a picture of that...

I would, if I wasn't just so content sitting and watching the sky change colours from the comfiness of the couch, or is it the warmth that has kept me sitting here.....?

All the same, it's nice to see the brightness of the morning come back to us!

Well, in other news of great excitement and intrigue.....

Yes, that is the finishing line for me...

The MAD scrambler.

I wish I was.

Not mad.

But a scrambler.

However... I do not have any EGGS.

A certain hair pulling out instead of nail biting beauty has used all the eggs.

She's back to biting her nails, AND her hair is growing back in.

The FUSS ... always doing something!
~~~~~~
Back to scrambling:
I am trying to figure out what to do... which is why I am here.
I believe I am stalling.
I had a weekend full of stalling... actually .. I had a weekend full of boring, and then the end of the work day I existed in exhaustion. Not sure if it was from the complete boring I ensued, or just plain tired. I can't be THAT tired... I mean really.
I have a flurry of thoughts filling my brain... of which to inflict upon my group... but I am not certain that ANYONE will be willing to take the challenge...  well enough of that... I will solve the issue later... not that I have much time left....
OK... and onto other things...
I went to go buy a new bra on Saturday after work. I just figured that I would have some great success buying up some very colourful bras from sears. I saw them on the rack the night before when we were at SEARS; buying the husbandman a new belt, and some hitman gloves.... we thought about a new trench coat to complete the look, but didn't find that certain style that one needs to be a hitman... I think it's the hat really that makes it...
ANYWAYS... I took my rainbow of bras into the change room and tried them all on. OK REALLY... how badly does one need to screw up and buy one of these things? I went to the rack TWICE to find some brilliant beauties blazing in colour..... I even settled for some super lace on white.... and how many did I purchase... ZERO.
I just want to buy one off the hanger, not out of a box... because it's fun to buy bras from a hanger, and not from a box. Not sure why exactly... BUT IT IS.
OK... and the other reason.. BECAUSE THEY WERE CHEAP. christ.. do I have to tell you all my secrets.
In the meantime.... I am still scrambling to come up with something.... good lord!
egg plant
That's the colour that I wish to paint the trim of the house, when we get a new fascade.
I hope I can remember the name of the colour when it comes times... because it is just such a wierd colour combo... I would think that egg plant would have the colour of yellow and white... it's not like I am conditioned or anything.
I went walking this morning..... straight to the driveway, into the car, then into starbucks and back out again, and then all the way back into the house.
Whew.
Too much egg-eercise for me I say.
For todays exercise experience I am going to do some resistance training like things... because I just bought some rubbery pulley items to do such things with. Hey, and don't complain about the highly technical language that I am now using on this blog... it's more than I can handle myself.
Now moving onto an email to airmiles.... hopefully I will get my technical lanuage straightened out in an effort for them to fix my non-airmilish problem... curse them!
egg-sauce-ted
That is what I am.
Not sure why.
I think it's STF.
Seasonal Transformation Frenzy.
Meaning that....
Spring is just around the corner, but for the moment it is still winter.
I'm still doing winterish things, and yet... getting ready for spring like things.
I can't say that I work too much... because HA... I do not do that!
Just feeling egg-sauce-ted and not sure why.
I didn't even bother going for my psychotic walking adventure today.....
I just didn't feel like it...
Great.. now I am a LOSER egg-sauce-ted.
Still in the night
The boy has put his foot down.... his size eleven and a half foot.
The cute GF called him... and he set the missykins straight. He wished some manlyman time.
Just him and his very tall friends.
There's probably six feet worth of feet sitting around that little den space.
Small house and big feet....it doesn't really matter... as long as they have their hands on the controls, and access to an "end cupboard".
Which is why I fed them a big bucket of popcorn.
I am an evil mother that travels the dark corners of her home.... in the knick of time... otherwise it would have been an empty end cupboard..
Do not be afraid...
I know I once was... but now I am not.
The boy and his purple shirt are exactly him.
It's subtle loudness and yet deep warmth is true to his character.
Of course mixed with a sheer smattering of craziness.
He is all that.
In other things to NOT be afraid of:
This very morning... yes, I was afraid of the morning.
I wished not to see it.. I wished for rain, I wished for great torrents of rain. I wished for great grandious cups of coffee that had an endless amount of cream. I wished for a marathon of new episodes of "say yes to the dress". I wished that I wished that I could stay in my P-J-Jamas all day, even though that goes against my greatest laws of life.
I wished for many things this very morning that involved doing nothing .. at all.
Oooops... fairy godmother wishy lady failed to make an appearance... and rather I was left:
Washing the face, nodding at how agreeable my hair was this morning, applying lipstick, finding an extra pair of pants to throw under the yoga pants, zipping up my favourite blue "autism awareness" jacket, throwing coffee in a travel cup, slurping back a tylenol for arthritis, watching say yes to the dress for 20 beautiful minutes, and then driving away.
And went walking.
AND people.. I will say.. it was a gor-G-ous morning... AND people.. I HAD to convince myself to go... AND people... the raw raw team sister (pictured below) felt the exact way I did... AND people... I just kept saying to myself... "you freak show... you would have been hissing flying F words all over the place had it been raining and I would have wanted to go to my favourite location in the world...". So I went, with the sister, and we walked for 75 minutes, it almost break neck speed, but not quite break neck speed, and didn't even feel like doing stairs.... because PEOPLE I didn't feel like doing stairs. Maybe my stairs will come back to me this morning...
Apparently I am working very hard at NOT being afraid of this morning.. and so far I have conquered the great outdoors in the beautiful sunshine.
WOW.
chocolate chippendales.
Whatever that is.... it just came to my brain, and I figured I better write it down.
Life is like that.
Ink and a notepad. It can take you places.
In other places I went today... across the bridge.. to Surrey.. I came home, with myself and the vehicle intact. The criminals probably weren't quite up yet... and we left before they had a chance to realized that it was a foreign vehicle visiting from the other side of the water. Ha!
The Fussilini has adamantly put her foot down about the NEW non-almost-maybe job that I have applied for. She has vehemently spewed her opposition to anymore weekend work. I have to say that I very much agree with her... but the position is, what the position is. So now... is this what I am faced with....?
I did draft up a very quick email to another manager... and asked her about a job that really doesn't exist. BECAUSE I do stuff like that people.. I just do? Why plan out calculated emails when you can BLAST things through ciberspace, only to semi-regret the maneuver two seconds later. IN FACT... I just thought about the Recreation Therapist girl at my very own hospital... I think I will email that manager about the verysame thing... and the hospital over the road, and up the hill, then down again.... I'm just going to keep firing off idiotic emails until I get an answer.... now that's a strategic plan.
Speaking of chocolate chippendales.. I was just dreaming of some chocolate.. well.. something that has some pecans added to it.. or nuts of any sorts really... but then I like the caramel added in for the sticky scrumptious flavour..... and what am I having now... a pink drink... crystal light.... yes, that will rid me of any chocolate dreams that I am seeming to have.
In other things related to my life but not important at all:
I have a decision to make in exactly 31 minutes. Do I get changed and go walking, or for-go it for another day, KNOWING that I will not crumple and DIE if I miss out. That decision will be based on the excitability state of my mind in NOW 30 minutes, or that the second dose of coffee has kicked in. OH, and the rain will play a big part in the decision making process.
OH people, people, people.. I have been gone all day... and there have been gremlins in my home.. I must go and straighten out the little locations where gremlins have made themselves visible.
Disliking the gremlins at this moment....
Cool like that..
And what about the Fuss?
Chill Till. Chill.
A rare guest appearance by the sis, and mr. cool-e-o himself Gramericanson. We like him, we like her too, we just don't include her in pictures... it's not her blog!
Comic relief:
I applied for a new job yesterday.
A NEW JOB.
Fairly scared about this.
I am not a girl that wishes to live her life doing things like:
WORKING!
How confused am I?
I will sort out the details if the people that hold the power call me.
I am already hearing myself saying....
Hmmmmm... well you see... working that much, well that's a problem....
It interferes with: (list from here to eternity...)
And so forth.
I am a true comedian... to myself.
Well.. then there is my son....
Now he is a true comedian. T.R.U.E., with a musical edge.
Not sure where he acquired that.
thirty five bucks
Has bought me renewed walking abilities.
The treads were going south I believe, on the current NB runners. They seemed OK., I was still walking OK, but the little foot inside wasn't feeling OK.
Ratta-min-yatta I say.
So I tried on a pair of  "what seemed to be" running runners from Costco... and the fact that they had an air cushion beneath the heal. Music to me... on the feet.. ( and in the ears!)...so I bought them.
They will do me for the next couple of months.. there's no sneezing at 35 bucks for a pair of runners that is going to get me around the track and up and down stairs.
In todays exciting new PERCY PERRI adventures:
The 500 year old Korean fellow was out in full force.. walking the track, the side streets and the entrance points to the stadium. He still scares me.... him and his little white gloves.
The scottish ladies were not there today... being all big about owning their third and fourth lanes and all. These two woman brushed shoulders with some slower 3rd & 4th laners yesterday. Whoaaa down there Scottish ladies...  these ladies are in good competition with the 500 Korean man in walking speeds... there is no catching up to them.
The Caucasian contingent had a better showing today. WE can take some lessons from others that put their health first. OK.. before you go all INTERNATIONAL on me...  it is clearly an evidence based observation that when we go to the track there are not that many caucasians, but rather Korean/Asian looking individuals... where it is my HONEST thought that they value their health more than us slower poked white folks...
Then there is the paranthethes runner... more on that after I straighten the PIPS hair....
As soon as I change my shoes:
  1. I am going to throw on a load of laundry.
  2. Throw some dishes around... it's just fun.
  3. Vacuum something.
  4. Put some clothes in a bag.
  5. Do the recycling.
  6. Chop up the christmas tree.
  7. Clean the bathroom.
  8. Hang up my clothes.
  9. Steal some more gravel.
  10. Find a pair of shoes to change into...
Windy Wet West
Some people are really hoping for:
White, white & white.
The Olympics are how many days away.... and current conditions keep delivering rain, and now wind.
However... driveway conditions are now CLEAR! ... of mud and muck and other things that make me go ICK!
The rocks have been a success ... and I am hoping for more, perhaps I will bulkify the driveway with a couple more wheelbarrel loads this week. It was a very non-enjoyable event... and yet quite enjoyable all in one breathe.
I will wait for weather conditions to return to normal again before attempting this procedure... of course the husbandman wasn't interested in finishing off the job... only because he wasn't interested from the start.
In other things way less useful in life:
I bought a mini garbage can the other day... and now it can sit on my back step... like the other 5 containers.... BUT the difference is that this mini garbage can has a locking lid... that makes me most happy like... now the little rodenty type things that live and breathe in these parts will not make this a favourite on their nightly scourages. Not that they have made this a favourite locale...it's just not to tempt them... before all of the green leftovers make it to the back compost land. My other container finally gave up the ghost with a broken plastic lid... and I spent so much on the lollipop container it wasn't funny... ah ah ha ha hha
OH.. forgot to mention.... as windy as it was here last night... all our trees are still standing... for the momento...
I might need to make a new runner purchase this week. I have been walking the track like a crazy woman... NO I MEAN A REAL CRAZY WOMAN... and the runners are just not seeming too comfortable any longer. I wonder if they only have so many miles programmed into them...? They don't look to beat up, and the soul still has lots of tread. I think they might actually be too big now... and are rubbing in all the wrong spots!
My next adventure for this morning is to make my hair appear on the normalish side... since it was wind-whipped yesterday afternoon after my psycho walking adventure. So this is how it all went down... the sister calls me.. and tells me of her tales on the treadmill: how many minutes she walked, and then the incline that she moved it to... so then we determined that I needed to do the same, but at the track. So although I only walked 4 & 1/2 miles, and walked the stairs (45) ten times, the sister did not have the wind currents flying at her! Now on top of my hair just being straw.... now it is straw and wire combined. A combination that should not be messed with on a daily basis ( in regards to shampooing!)... so now I am left trying to curl it up, fuss it up, manuver it into some semblance of appropriateness... and I am not one to wear it up in a clip or ponytail... because it can't do that well either... with all it's wire-eee-ness.
Of course we will not even think about the windy wet west that is happening outside at this moment, which will undo all my doings in less than a heartbeat.
Best keep on with the management process... and other things relevent to this day.
I think I would wish to go and take photos... of what.. who knows.... that adventure will have to be saved for another day....
ASk the neighbours..
They witnessed it.
A lady, her wheelbarrel and a shovel.
That's how it all went down.
Load after load... I walked back my driveway.
Well.. sometimes I even zigzagged.
I DID listen to my music.
Sometimes the rake was my dancing partner, and so was the shovel... I didn't want hurt feelings with the inanimate objects you know.
The neighbours tried to talk to me... but I had my dancing hands on between shoveling and wheelbarreling.
It was a fabulous psychotic event. Practically a success.
I almost think the greatest fun was hosing down the driveway. LOVE the hose. I had to clear away all the mud from the driveway, and down the street... before one of the crazy neighbours came home.... I needed to clear all evidence as to howcome there was now mud sitting in front of her driveway (as it made its way to the drainagey thingy)... didn't want her to know it was me....
Hmmmm.... I believe the only thing I was shoveling last year was snow... and now today again I will be out there raking the rocks back into the grooves that the husbandman has made.
What an exciting adventure for me...I am just the luckiest....
Just ASK the neighbours!
Thank you Lujza! (Louisa FYI)
Ok...
So thanks for giving me a reason to not get up and leave my computer at this very moment.
I like procrastination....it suits me!
(My Micheal Buble is in my eardrums at the moment.... things could get interesting.)
"......baby don't you know I love you so.....
Well you can dance... "
"Save the last dance for me.... (big trumpet music now....)"
~~~~~

anyways.... Lujza, Lujza... Lujza.....

I am referring to being late for work (as per usual,  but I MORE THAN MAKE UP FOR....), and needing to cut my hair... more specifically my bangs....

So ya... there I was.... finding my little scissors, and sliding them across the top of my eyebrows....

AND

BANG

There you have them! (bangs)

I was mainly just referring to cutting my hair very quickly. I probably could have written that... but you know... I wish to work for the CIA or the FBI, or the CDC, or even the CBC and be one of those decoders!

(Do you think that I will look weird drifting down the street with a wheel barrow in my 6 sizes too big rain pants moving to the beat of "staying alive" in a dance mix version ?)

I will go test my theory.....

BANG!

Yesterday morning I was busily getting ready for work.

How one isn't busily getting ready is beyond me.... it's all business, from the moment of waking till flitting out the door.

I mean... why leave on time, when you don't have to?

I was straightening the ever so crazylike hair. It needed straightening in a hugely big and bad way... as I had been out walking, and did the stairs the afternoon before.

This hair is all quite scarey everytime it steps foot outdoors... with hair products gathered and amassed and emersed into... it just is.

Today was no exception.

With moments to spare, and the flat iron HOT... I was whipping the hair pieces around like no tomorrow.

Hair was hanging and sitting and stuck and wrong and just plain misplaced.

Then it struck me... where are my scissors...??

AND before I could blink.... it all happened in an instant.

I looked up and.....

BANG!

It was supposed to be a date!

Probably the world around has someone in their life:

My friend Kim.

I am not certain why I should have to announce "my friend" before the name... because really.... would I preface a person otherwise "my most despised person in my life ....", or " the man that I sleep with everynight.....", or "this product of our love (child)....".

No.. I do not. It's just weird... and it makes for weird looks, and even weirder conversation.

BUT... I insist on calling this girl/lady/female "my friend". Like it needs a justification/ explanation before the real story unfolds.

So... my friend KIM tells me last week that she is going to join "whale watchers". I believe I dubbed it that name a number of years ago, or she was calling it that name.. when she had joined one more time, but I didn't know that she was actually joining "weight watchers", but in fact this cool new ORCA endeavour. I asked her where she went to go to "whale watchers", and at the time it was in a community centre, or church or somewhere... and I wanted to know what exactly they did at "whale watchers" in a community centre... watch slide shows of captured images of whales. So how many pictures do these people really get... and aren't they all similar... or is the whale watcher group studying pods and dorsal fins?

"You idiot" my friend Kim said to me....
"I'm joining WEIGHT watchers... not whale watchers... is there even a group for that...?" my friend Kim continued on, in hysterics.

Ever since then... it has been forever known as whale watchers.

Last week my friend Kim told me that she was once again joining "whale watchers". I congratulated her, and was happy that she had found another seven people to join with her. She decided to NOT ASK me to join... because first and foremost... the meetings are on Thursdays... and since I do not like going to work at all, even when I am paid.... she figured that driving to work to only stand on a scale would be more than I could probably handle, especially since I WAS NOT getting paid. She was perfectly correct in her assumption.

My friend Kim and I talked about my divorce... from food, and I might not be a candidate to become a whale watcher since they try and make you eat things like... bread and other such hideous (but healthy) items, and "alot" points for stuff like hawkins cheezies, which again.. I have completely divorced....

Thus... I was waiting for her to fill me in on her first day as a "pod" going to whale watchers together....

When I get the call...

She is calling me from her cell phone.

I ask my friend Kim. "was whale watchers that exciting that you couldn't wait to get back to the unit to call, you had to call from your cell phone....?"

My friend Kim informs me that she has had to leave work because her vision is blurry... so she is DRIVING to the opthamologist .... of course she pauses...

"Welcome to McDonalds drive-thru, what would you like to order....?"

I start to laugh.

I am no help to my friend Kim.

"Whale watchers" was cancelled, and she was going to make the most of it!

My friend Kim... she always makes me laugh.

The real 2010:

Let me see here:
  • Mr Psychotic Roadrage van driving hooded moron tried to run me off the road.  ( I slammed on my brakes to NOT KILL the texting  person with a poodle on those stupid extensible leashes out for a rollerblade on a dark night... instead: instead Mr. Roadrage tried to run me off the road). Hmmm. Nice
  • Neighbourman calls... see here see... I got some info you see.....you live in a white house with blue trim you see, and the house down the street is a blue house with white trim you see....and the blue house with the white trim was broken into you see, but I think they were gunning for your house you see, do you see the connection, is there any information you can hand over to me....?.OK Mr Detective where is this going here....?
  • A little while later one of the Queens Cowboys is on our doorstep... looking for the boy... and asking him questions...., on the boys birthday no less. Happy Birthday Boy... from the Queens Cowboys to you....
  • Then shall we talk abou the psycho phone call from the MIL. Things have been going fine... she has some beautiful little quirks about her... and as a DIL, one says nothing. So when she calls on his birthday and he is not home, it is clear in her line of questioning that she is already making some pretty interesting assumptions. To end the phone call quickly.. I continue to say nothing, mind you I tried to clear her line of reasoning.. but that was too late...
  • In an effort to ensure/instill politeness in my boy I ask him to call his grama back the following day (after his birthday, and after the purchase of his new electric guitar with some of the money she gave him). I wished for him to let her know what he had bought... ( I knew he was going to buy this... but I didn't want to tell her)... and that it wasn't crack cocaine, or even worse, an ounce of that money spent on his girlfriend... even if it might have been a single eraser tip for her pencil. About 3.4 seconds into the phone call she lights into him... basically tells him that on this path he is currently on that he will end up in the streets, begging for money, and playing bad music, with nowhere to live, and will never make anything of himself, and beat random people at bus stops for expired transit passes... you know that sort of stuff. NIIIIIIIIIICE. VERRY VERRRRY nice.
  • So, OK. that is out of my area of any kind of rational sense making. I re-interpret her words for her.... "Since you are not just like your very nice cousins who all do very well in school, as well work hard at doing well, she is concerned that you are not reaching your full potential as a student yourself... she wishes the same thing for you.. except she has a weird way of explaining it". OH.. and I did offer up the advice that maybe it's best if he didn't make the random phone calls to her again... and I apologized for suggesting that he should have done so... what kind of complete screw up of a mother am I .... ???
  • I started running up stairs yesterday... started with the walk, and then increased it to the bouncy running up stairs..  I believe that is where I am headed at this very moment... back to the track/stairs.... if I were to go back 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, 5 months, 8 months, last year, a year and a half ago. ... I wouldn't have been running up stairs.
  • That has been 2010 so far. What are we in... 7 days worthy?
  • Oh yes.. I fail to mention... that the Fussinator is going skiing today... SKIING. The girl can barely walk a straight line... let alone.... things that make you go fast down a hilllllllllll!

So are you supposed to:

Start the year off with a resignation to your Manager?

Dear Manager Lady:

Welcome back from your holidays... I hope you and your family had a nice vacation in Hawaii.

While you island hopped and basked in the great warmth of the sun, I walked circles around a track in Coquitlam.

I very much like walking in circles, as it's predictable, and safe, and not really that challenging, with the exception of when someone steps into your traveling lane. At this point I wish to jump lanes, and move to the 6th lane, instead of the regular 5th lane that I very much desire. Walking in circles has given me ample time to think about all the places that I wish to be, and the places that I wish to go. I realized that I am very stuck to my 5th lane, and even when I am forced to deviate from that lane, I find my way back. It's my little space of security. I know that as long as I continue to walk around the track my body will thank me for it... it's pretty much like my little paycheque that amasses every two weeks. ... as long as I continue to show up for work on the weekends, I will continue to get paid.. just like my body pays me back for walking in circles.

I am believing that walking in circles has certainly held a great place in my life, especially the last 17 years.

But really... it's time to switch from the safety, comfort & security of the 5th lane, and move into the 6th lane, the fourth lane, the 3rd lane, any lane really... other than the 5th lane. I am long overdue for a lane change, and that time is now.

Effective January 2011.
