Let's go for another....

The girl has no school today. Which is why I am here. I have time to type. Well, not a lot of time, but enough time to jot down some thoughts, comments, weirdities and assorted events.

OK, so the boy was completely put out that the girl has no school. He was kind of freakish about it really, that "the little babies" can't handle staying up late. "Yes, that is right Mr. Nightowl, they can't," I said to him. He told me he wasn't going to school. I wished him good luck on that part. He very reluctantly got up this morning, got himself ready, and was almost out the door when the princess called from across the street. Her dad was giving her a ride to school today. I almost didn't think anything otherwise, as she went out as Paris.Hilton last night for halloween and walked around in 3 - 4 inch heels. Poor Paris, being driven in a domestic vehicle...

In other big ticket items of the day:

I have a full compliment of assorted lightswitches, plugs and dimmers installed in my kitchen now. There is enough lights in this space to almost believe that we live next door to the sun. Bare in mind that our kitchen once upon a time had ONE light fixture installed in the centre of the kitchen. OH, I lie.. another flourescent tube thing above the sink with that weird glass. GAWD.. I am such a lying liar double lying lady....

OK, but now I am not... I kid you not people... the SUN lives in my home, and I am at the mercy of making it shine or not.

So ya....

More random thoughts....

The sister told me she was dressing up for halloween. OK. Have fun with that. I did not even fathom for a second that she was completely dressing up. Someone knocked on my door yesterday, into the late afternoon... it was a Jack Sparrow and Harry Potter. They were very cute, and I welcomed them inside... (on any other day they would commonly be known as "the mitchy and lexy"... or, the nephews. Anyways.. I see this blond haired woman scampering across the front lawn carrying a pumpkin.. and I think ... "who in the heck is that?".... and that's when it dawned on me.. it was the sister. HOLY CRAP did I howl. So there's the sister dressed in a bright turquiose poodle skirt, a white shirt, a blond wig, pink scarf, black rimmed glasses, and saddle shoes. She was a scream. I couldn't stop laughing. Actually neither could she when she handed me the Millecicinthe costume to put on. She said it captured my true nature.... especially when I started yelling at a guy to slow down on our street. The sister said to me.. "how can he take you serious in that get up Deanna..... think about it"... So true.

Oh this has been so luxurious to sit down and write random thoughts... absolutely luxurious. I am even drinking a cup of coffee while doing so... I have so many thoughts to spill.. I only hope that I can retain the images for me long enough to write them... but for now I must start my traintrack ritual... and get out in the real world to do things... it's almost as if I was riding in first class this past hour........

thanks Mrs. Pickaspat.

The other night I was talking to Mrs. Pickaspat on MSN. It's a very handy little tool. We started talking pumpkins. Well, the fact that I did not have one, and she had an extra one. PERFECTO BEANS I say! It arrived on my doorstep at lightening speed, and was sliced, hollowed and carved for the little pumpkin paraders that came around. It had a very cool stalk, so I kept the stalk and carved some squinty eyes, and a gritting semi smile, and put a clown wig on top. There. A job well done... thanks to Mrs. Pickaspat!

Next year I am growing pumpkins again.... apparently this year, there was a shortage.

Annnnnnd.... I'm back.

I have been riding an endless railway track I think.

Giga, giga choo, giga giga choo.

I have the constant flow of words running through my head "now do this, now do this, now do this, now do this", which was translated to the above music. Every moment of my days have been a thinking process, and then yesterday, all of a sudden, the train hit a station for a bit of break, and I talked on the phone for an hour and a half. OMG!

I did try and post a halloween picture yesterday, but when it didn't take the allotted 2 minutes time, I aborted the mission. The train I am on doesn't quit until Monday, but I can make it that many more times around the track, now that I know the ride is coming to a close. Interestingly enough I am going no where, it's just the amount of jobs that I have had to accomplish that have kept me thinking and busy.

giga giga choo, giga giga choo, giga giga choo...............

It's a full moon out there people.

I am greedily sad.

Yes I am.

A brand new kitchen... and what is it that I want?

A zoom lense, the camera to go with it... and some chocolate.

I could take a picture of the full moon... or something like that....

In the meantime:

The husbandman is putting the finishing touches on the kitchen. things like plugs, kitchen sinks, dishwashers, and something to do with a cocking gun, or something....

Yes.. this is true..

I sent away a resume today.... for a job that I really do not want, but I am wanting a change.. so I have to do something... I wonder if I am going to hear something.. as this was the cover letter that I sent:

Auxiliary Seniors Centre Assistant 12007 -100340
My resume is as boring as the paper it is presented on, and I never really know what to write on a cover letter, but I thought that I would add some additional comments:
I never thought I would see the day that my two existing jobs actually combined, and would become one… and I would see it listed on your website as an “Assisant”. .

After spending 20 years at RCH for a temporary position, I would consider myself as having a “black belt” in customer service. My other two real jobs revolve around older folks, or just folks in general. I have had a huge amount of experience dealing with lost folks, confused folks, slow folks, funny folks, stressed folks, and even appreciative folks.

My job at the hospital requires me to be “the smarty pants” of the ward in regards to the computer. Over time I have learned that these inanimate objects draw fear in some people, except for me, I have learned the ins & outs of the computers world, (also mainly so I can keep up with my children…).

As far as handling cash, I collect drop-in fees and put them in a little canister with a duck on it, which isn’t challenging. In regards to handling money in real life, I do so, on a daily basis, and by all accounts I am pretty good at handling money. I generally have to try and hang on to it tightly, as it seems to drift away very quickly.

I look forward to hearing from you...

Sunday reality check.

Rats.

How is it that the weekend should go by so quickly?

It's done and over.. and I haven't even done anything. Except work... oh yes, can't forget about that.

I am busily sucking back some Kirkland childrens vitamins ..... still..... they are just hideous tasting. I only have about 196 left to go before the bottle is finished, and I can chuck it into recycling. They don't expire until Jan 2009... rats again. I will just tuck them back into the left side of the computer monitor...

I sent away some emails to people that I know. Big thanks to those who emailed me back.. and a no comment to those that are busily in love and have no time for boring people entering your in boxes without a glint of fun in their lives....he h ehe he heh he

I boiled up a spot of tea in the new microwave earlier. This will probably freak my friend Susan out.. I am sure of it. I wanted a cup of tea.. and the kettle is sitting outside on the OLD STOVE.. and it isn't shiny enough to come back into the new kitchen. It did the trick, and I was happy... until the tea was gone, and I wanted more.. now it's almost too much work to go for a "do over".

I had a bunch of chairs delivered here today. They are sitting out in the garage at the moment. There was supposed to be a table attached to these chairs, but it got damaged in the process of arriving... so another one will be arriving in a couple of weeks, or something like that.

The KINGhusbandman is claiming that he will be completely done the kitchen by this upcoming weekend. He has installed all of the tile (backsplash).. and it looks wonderfully amazing. There are still the switches, light fixtures, sink and dishwasher to finish up with, and some grout for the walls.. but the time will be coming soon that everything should be complete. My camera batteries are currently charged and ready for picture taking... but with things not completed, I am not going to start snapping...

I think tomorrow I will unload my old refridgerator, and reload the new refridgerator...right now we are living out of both. It seems kind of weird.. I just haven't got around to emptying the beastly object.

The boy is currently learning the "jurassic park" theme on the piano... it is very pretty.. I didn't realize how pretty of a song it is... I would just not say that to him.. as he would not want to be learning a pretty song... or at least I don't think he would.

I have a new dryer as well.. we have had it for a couple of weeks actually. I like the way I can't even count to one mississippi before the buzzer has finished buzzing. That puts a smile on my face. Earlier... what didn't put a smile on my face was the music that they were playing at safe.way. The assistant manager told me that he just tuned it out. I said to him that is probably because he isn't a highly psychotic woman that has just come a frantic day at work, with twenty other things on her mind, plus an invisible shopping list to work through. He just stared at me. Hmmm... odd of him....

I saw on the front of some magazine while standing in line to pay for groceries that prince william will not be king... well.. I was thinking that exact same thing.. my very own prince william will not be king. What a coincidence.

I had a meeting with the boys teacher the other day. The school gave us a days notice. It was a very tricky thing to do.. although I still managed to call and make an appointment. When I asked the secretary what spots were available, she quickly told me ..."all of them"... I met with the boys teacher, which I was very nervous about.. as I had made a list... a list of things that I wanted her to read. She probably thought (and still does) I was nuts. In the end she was most impressed with the fact that I had put some thought into our 1o minute meeting. She stated that he was an interesting mix, and he kept her on her toes. Well that's alright by me then. My friend didn't care to meet the teacher, all she cared about was the fact that her child was in the challenge program. Raw raw!

Yesterday instead of going to work, I went off to a meeting... it was a long drive... but it was a good drive.. because it was on a Saturday. In enjoyed it very much, and met a woman, who I had known only once a year for the last five years, ... that we are very much the same. She runs another branch of the stroke group... so now I am going to travel out to her space on one these Wednesdays.. and see what she is up to.... it's weird meeting someone so much like you... especially when you have a stalker/bookend that is already like you....

The new fridge is a little on the noisy side... I am not used to ice cubes tumbling about inside the freezer again... we used to have that.. but one night, many moons ago... water was pouring out of the freezer because the ice machine thingy had taken some steroids, and was ballooning out of control. I am certain I will become used to it very quickly.

I know that the water tastes flat. If water can taste flat at all... but it just does.

This nights research is including automatic speech. I have found an oxford journal to read from.. but it isn't giving me what I want... so I must return to another google page....I just want automatic speech... I don't want all the theories of retraining.... aaaahhhhhh!

Well it is time for me to go and print my jokes....but first I have to find them...

Happy Birthday

The husbandman said that the granite counter tops were his birthday present.

The granite people have arrived, installed and left....

OMG.. they are beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!

This is ultimately the most wonderful birthday present ever.

Not including me of course.. ha ha ha h ah ha.

piles of...

Paper.

I seem to have lots of it.

It taunts me, and haunts me, and finds me, and sends me.

All kinds & all colours, with even more stuffed in already overstuffed envelopes.

I am a professional paper sorter.

The Daily Chaos

Yesterday a couple people fell down in my world.

It's true.

Very true.

Nothing exciting happened.

It's just what happened that made the people fall down.

I went to work.

Yes, the very work that I claim to dislike in a very great way, that work.

It's not that I planned on going to work, in fact I had just got home from work.

Well, I had just got home from Save.On.Foods actually.

Which prior to that I had driven down to the boys school to look for his teacher.

Just before that I was at home dealing with a very stressed out boy.

Which before that I was picking up the girl from school.

And prior to that I was driving home from work, but after all that I went back to work, but not before make the chicklets some dinner.

It doesn't make me dislike my work any more than the day before. Which I do.

I made it home in time to finish tucking the girl in to her bed, and watching an episode of Seinfeld. Despite the growing years on the show, and the reruns.. the humour continues to kill me!

The End.

In things that I do...

That keep me sort of sane for a moment or three.

Today I decided that I needed to continue learning heart rhythms.... as I seem to always be watching the monitors at work, and wonder to myself ..."what exactly is going on here...."

Instead of printing off my pile of jokes for the stroke group tomorrow.. I am searching through googled heart rhythms....

I am my own make work project...

In other things....

There is a brand new installed microwave in my kitchen. It is lovely, and microwaveable. AND... for only a moment there was also a dishwasher put in place, but it was promptly removed and tucked back into its cardboard covering, just in case I started getting any evil thoughts about using such a non functional kitchen... oh the thoughts.

A couple more days until things will be even more completed... it is very exciting. I am just wondering who is really going to use this kitchen once it is up and functioning again... I know I am going to have fun filling cupboards... but other than that...I am certain that the king will not let me use the appliances... oh wait... that might just be a wish on my part... damn!

OH ma ma..

So the Pip and I were busy talking the other day about Halloween. She is the kind of girl that pretty much knows what she wants, most of the time... (unlike the crazy mother that doesn't really know what she wants for a only some of the time, and the rest of the time the mother forgets).. anyways.. this conversation was all about Halloween costumes....

"Oh you know Ma ma... I am just so tired of being beautiful all the time......" the Pip says to me.

"Yes Pip, that is really a curse, and if you could give it to me, I would gladly take it off your hands..." I said to her.

The Pip has decided that she wishes to be ghost this Halloween.. a classic non descript ghost... the mother was thinking of adding some sequins and some lipstick to the ghostly costume...
because really ... is there anything wrong with a beautiful ghost.....

The longest hours..

I have decided that I can not stand my job anymore.

I absolutely can not stand it.

I am tired of it.

I am bored of it.

I can not stand to hear the phone ring.

I can not stand to help one more lost soul.

I want to be completely done from this job.

It was only supposed to be temporary.

That was 20 years ago.

The only thing you do in this job is move on, you never move up.

I am tired of it, and would love to move on... but to what...

Today I was talking with a friend who has moved on.

I asked her about the job opportunities.

They seemed reasonable.

The chicklets are growing up, and do not need me "as much".

I think it's time for me to move on.

The sad thing is, I worked with a great group of people this weekend.

I am really tired of never going anywhere in this life.

Not that I am needing to go places, because considering how much his little family of mine travels... I really don't need to go anywhere at all.

One thing I do know.. is that I need to leave.

My favourite word of the week has been: "FUCK!"

Now I am FUCKING mad that I did not get all that I needed to get accomplished this weekend at work. The favourite FUCK word just isn't cutting it any longer, as many things seem to be pissing me off for no apparant reason. I think this ultimate evil is coming from my complete dissatisfaction from my work. Every FUCKING Friday I search for jobs, and to no avail.. I can not find any that suit my ideal. The real trouble with that is the fact that I am capable to do many things in work life, and am not just suited for only one type of job, hence the complete psychotic state that I have apparently entered.

I guess better luck next week... so for now... it's just another FUCKING DAY.

oh.. sorry to those with tender spots to the eyebulbs... it's just the fucking way it has to be for now.

That Pip...

She was doing some sentence writing homework last night. I am not entirely sure what it was all about, but none the less she appeared willing to do the required homework which is a big change for her. Something struck me... as she came up with her next sentence...

"My best friend M is sweeter than a desperate man in Paris."

Classic material people.

finding more green...

blick bleck

Not that I am counting or anything.. but it is now less than a week before we can get this kitchen back in order.

I have been overly fortunate that I have had the laundryroom temporarily acting as an almost high functioning kitchen. In some cases, it could almost pass for a kitchen, minus the stove... but then there are ways around that.

I went to Safe.way today to collect groceries... and as I was driving towards home I remembered that I told the girl to wait for me out front of her school... that I would bring her her lunch. I am clearly an honestly pathetic mother some days!! But on an upswing.. I did stop at the school and managed to rummage through a couple of bags for something to keep her happy until the end of the day. The real turn of events was when I handed her over a pack of Mento's... she could have cared a less about anything else at that point. See, I still manage to make them happy despite the almost screw up of forgetting her.

Ok.. back to more kitchen talk... I have moved some things into the cupboards. The King does not know this.. and he wishes not to be using the cupboards until the countertops are in, but my rationale is that the "things" that are starting to appear in the cupboards are not items that will affect the planting of the countertops. The King and his rules.... who needs them?

AND.. for things that I wish not to be scared of....

Little Miss Elpster is still managing to hold her own. I do not think that she is in the clear quite yet, but I am not seeing any signs of kidney failure so far. She still continues to drink, and more importantly PEE, and remains quite bright (in her docile way). Everything that I have read says that it takes as long as 72 hours to clear her system. We are at 48 hours now, so the fingers are still crossed.

Moving into the backyard....

I will go and pull up some more pots and things. The dahlia's look like they have had their fun in the sun, and wish only to be put to rest for the winter, so I guess I should chop them back. The impatience are still patiently blooming, so I will let them be. The only problem with that is, if it should turn cold, then that will be it for them, and then I will be cleaning up tuberous slimy creatures from the dirt. That's ick.

Must return to regular life now.

The book club

I would never have read this if the book club hadn't decided to. I thought it was good, a portrayal of ones mans life through a twenty year span. So for me, it was way better than the obituary section of the newspaper.

14, 001

I was once hopeful that we would make it to Disney.land this fall. This is out of the question simply due to the fact that we still do not have passports, and zero dollars to travel with. I am still banking on the air.miles situation to take us places, and with the amount of business that has been transacted on that master.card of mine.. the count is slowly climbing, and so is the amount of air.miles required for travel...

Welcoming Wednesday

Thanksgiving was a couple of days ago, but I will continue to be thankful long after the named occasion.

A couple of weeks ago the little Miss Elpster took to clawing the husbandmans newly drywalled, primed and painted wall next to the bathroom. He then asked that when we are out, put her in her cage, to keep her safe since she continues to behave like a total moron. I did just that yesterday. I went out, and put her in her cage, where of course when I came home, I found her safe and sound, and the home free from damage. I let her outside, gave her a nice pat, and continued with the business of the day. Little Miss Elpster loves to spend time relaxing and sleeping in the den on the green leather couch. This is the bulk of her daily activities, and it tires her greatly. It's actually quite amusing. That was until yesterday when I had an inkling to check on her, which I never check on her as she is in the den sleeping. Yesterday I found her cleaning up a bag of chocolate covered raisins. Nice, very very nice. This home doesn't really keep chocolate covered anything around these parts, simply due to the fact that none of need it, although it's nice for a treat on occasion.

We watched her all evening, and she seemed not to worse for wear, except for the fact that she seemed to be peeing all over the place, which we didn't realize for a couple of hours actually. I thought she was just being overly exited by lapping up water due to the chocolate consumption, oh and the fact that she vomited all over her dog cage. Upon doing some research last night on the internet I came to the saddened realization that not only is chocolate damaging to a dog based on a per pound consumption, but raisins were equally if not more damaging to a dog. NICE, fucking nice! Today she is still drinking, and has eaten her food, and by all accounts it appears that she is behaving just as she does on any regular day... sleeping on the green leather couch. Of course there is the fear that sits in the back of my mind that she could quite possibly go into renal failure, and I am not sure how many dogs I know that live on dialysis. I don't think that I will ever bring choclate covered raisins into the home again.

So... onto other things that do not make my hair turn that grey....

What's the deal with the comment left on my last post....? Is this spam, or did a real person write this?

The rain is back...

WE got lucky this morning.

The sideways rain stopped for a time being, so we could have our walking group. Mind you the large and looming grey clouds scared us into believing that we were doomed at any time. Since we are all hardened "wet coasters" we decided to continue to walk despite the rain. I did not divulge the true fact that I personally hate walking in the rain, but I figured it would not do me in for an hour twice a week, although I am certain that it will try.

I went on Sunday and added another expense to our already smoking credit card. I found a table and chair set that will fit the newly almost remodeled kitchen. I was all for the pub table and chair style, but the husbandman wanted the "old fashioned regular" table and chairs, especially for the one time in the year that we have guests over. I quizzed him on the fact that we have people over once in 365 days, and that is how we base our kitchen table buying? He claimed it was. Whatever.

Our refridgerator is currently in our livingroom. I suggested that we just put it outside and plug it in the great outdoors, but the husbandman looked at me strangely. He is just so non-comical about these things.

We would put things in our garage, but there isn't an ounce of room left. It has been stock piled with new fridges, microwaves, old & new dishwashers, a perfectly good gas range, brand new kitchen cabinets that will not be getting installed into the brand new kitchen, and a rather large assortment of boxes. Our kitchen however.. remains a little on the empty side.

I forgot to tell the husbandman that the new kitchen table and chairs are being delivered sooner than later.. which should add to the chaos... probably in between coats of paint on the crown moldings.

This has to be the way..

Another week in review... this is getting to be too much.. I used to be a faithful once a dayer... and now I am hitting the keyboard only weekly. I would like to thank my faithful TWO maybe THREE blog readers who come and visit my day to day antics... you know.. if somedays I could only fill you in on the half of what really goes on ......

Let me step back a moment in time, all the way till last week....
  1. I think Monday was regular. That was six days ago.. almost a lifetime ago really, so there is not much to report.
  2. Tuesday was walking day in the morning, and then I went out for lunch in the afternoon. The Debbies, myself, and the "very enjoyable to have accompany us" husbandman Mr. Pickaspat. It was the Pip and her friend "Bonkstar" as I like to call her dance time. Well, it is good to plant the Pip in front of a mirror and try to make her dance, at least she can see that she has arms and legs. Let me see... Tuesday night... Tuesday night... Tuesday night.... nothing remarkable to report, plus a bad memory to boot... I am certain that something happened..
  3. Wednesday was highly entertaining. The sister and I did useless tasks... of course I had to wait for the sister at her house, drinking coffee with skim milk for cream, so I am not certain why I even bothered... but I wanted something to drink. While I was idly sitting waiting for her at her house I decided to fix her computer monitor for her... for whatever reason the monitor was all small like and irritating to look at. So I just started pressing buttons to fix it, and when I told her about it, she just thought that's the way the computer worked. GAWD!!!! Oh yes... I wrote about Wednesday already... the fight with the weedwhacker.., and the quirky "Northern Exposure" park meeting that I went to.
  4. Thursday was busy. The sister and I met at the walking group and we met a woman that had just arrived here from Korea 5 days ago, and wanted to immerse herself in Canadian life. It was truly fascinating her story of her life, and the fact that she is only here for a year, and wishes to partake in all things Canadian. She joined an English conversation group and was very disappointed to find out that all the people were Korean. Go figure. This lady would be able to run a conversation group with the amount of English that she knows. I certainly know if I had gone to Korea for a year, I wouldn't be walking with a bunch of strangers through a trail five days later, most impressive! The rest of the afternoon was spent vacuuming and cleaning out the boys room. He had changed it all around, and since he has quite the fear of spiders he had bits of crap littered all over his room. I never got a chance to say goodbye to my very sweet and lovely scrapbooking friend mailman Debbie. She decided to leave the lower mainland and head for the hills and valleys to someplace called Williams Lake. I still can't figure out what the draw is... but if that is where acreage will buy her happiness... then I wish her lots of luck. I am very much going to miss my Debbie friend. Our little street will not be the same without her. I didn't wave a good bye, so that is disappointing. I will very much miss the scrapbooking adventures that we have had over the past number of years, sometimes we even scrapbooked when we got together. I had to go and buy the boy a new piano book, which he picked out. Hopefully he will remember to bring this book to his piano lesson, unlike the day previous that he forgot to bring his music with him. I returned a call to the boys teacher about his missing title page and a sewing project. I politely explained that he is quite shy at asking for help, and incredibly slow at everything he does in life... so have patience with him, and maybe ask him if he needs help. I also plain as day pointed out that she was calling me about a missing title page that was due on the 10th of September, and honestly why was she calling me this late about the missing assignment... she called on Sept 26th to tell me all this. Interestingly I didn't hear back from the sewing lady. Yes teacher friends.. I am hell mother... who cares... I will happily speak my mind over an answering machine... trust me.. I tried emailing.. but it didn't go through. Survivor was good... CSI Las Vegas was crap... the writers, directors and producers should be embarressed!!!!! The book isn't going over to well... hence the extra hour of TV watching!
  5. Friday. Wow. The Husbandman got his hair cut. We managed to spend a lot of money yesterday. Well, not really that good.... we were going to buy a new kitchen table and chairs, but didn't have enough time to complete the paperwork, so I will have to do it on Sunday on my way home from work. We did go and buy a GE Profile stove... It's fun being RICH! (yes, that would be a dream that we have mistakenly had!). We tried picking out tile for a back splash.... OK.. more money than ever.... AND... I am hugely inconvenienced by the husbandmans choice of where to put the kitchen plugs, and the fact that they need tile to be around them. AND.. the most important moment of the day... The lovely hamsterson came home with a GREAT find. I was very proud of him. You see.. I seem to have a love of other peoples things that they wish to give away... it just so much fun taking other peoples junk! Anyways.. the boy spots this hideous piece of furniture while he was walking home with his friends and immediately yells "DIBS!!!!!!", and thus... carried home this 1969 style coffee table. It goes fabulously in his already totally cluttered bedroom. It is very similar in style to Kramers "Merv Griffin" set... I told the sister this last evening and the girl peed her pants laughing. The boy now has a space in his room for "the old" kitchen" chairs, and now this new table. I was very proud of his great find that I immediately took a picture of him... I would like to post the picture but I deleted his camera from the computer.. and now I have to hunt for the disk to reinstall it.... hmmmmm. Anyways... the husbandman was oddly not impressed by the excitement that made it's way through our front doors yesterday... OH well... sad for him!
  6. I am going to go and watch the rest of the movie that I started watching last night....hopefully I will be successful... meanwhile... the husbandman had been diligently working away laying down our kitchen floor. You go husbandman.
  7. OH, and thanks to Mr. Whalley for stopping by for a visit to bear country. Yes, I am sad that they have abruptly departed... although they can still be spotted deep in the fields of tall grass munching on "things". I am truly fascinated that they have departed.. because I wonder where they have all gone, and really, upon doing some reading.. these black bears do communicate to one another despite living solitary lives, so they know where the greatest food source is at the moment, and we the silly humans have no idea where to find them!

Party on...

So... I did some things today, just a small bunch, but it was stuff.

I managed to get the renter guy to pick up his broken booze bottles. I plopped a sign on top of the mess that read "Clean Me UP!".

I did many useless tasks today which amounted to not a whole heck of a lot, but were important to do all the same.

I even managed to cut the front lawn, which included a fight with the lawn mower. I introduced it to many fowl words, of which they all fell out of my mouth, and directed them toward it. I tried to weed wack, but that little electrical machine and I don't get along too well, so I hissed at it too, and then eventually gave up. I fixed the front garden, and had to water, yes water....despite the rain and the damp, this piece of garden requires watering.

I moved onto washing my car. Now it's all shiny and indigo blue looking again, however; it doesn't help that I have to travel down a dirty and dusty and mucky road to get to piano and to see the (now non-existant) bears.

I put myself to the torture test this evening and went to a Park Association Meeting. OMG!!!!! is that crap every boring!!!!! Thank god for the cups of coffee.....I did chuckle at the enthusiasm of one of the members. Now he was very enthusiastic. There was a whole bunch of chatter about almost non-existant happenings, which completely bored me. There was supposed to be a slideshow presentation, but when they dropped the slides all over the table, I knew that was a bust.

I am currently reading a large text book of which I have no interest in. I am hoping to see it to the end..... and there is a big hope in that.

Must go read... or something.....

This is....

Totally bugging the shit out of me.

I swore up and down, left and right, that I would not look past my front yard at the chaos that happens further than my driveway.

This weeks torment is the good neighbours tenant that had a party two weekends ago. There are two bags of empty booze containers that are sitting at the edge of the driveway. There are bits of broken glass sitting beyond the bag. It was garbage day today, and the bags are still there.

So... I am wondering what can I do to to get it cleaned up. I am thinking of planting a sign in the middle of the night....."Bottle clean up service not available in this area".

I am about (__________)this close to doing it.

My book is calling, I must leave now.

Weeks are rushing by...

I am currently sitting here in the deep and dark dusty livingroom trying to come up with an October Agenda. I have most of it spelled out, so hopefully it wont be a bust. It is tricky trying to keep all of the people happy in the group, I am only successful only a bit of the time. See it helps that the other half of the time another couple of people are happy. If I were to take a poll at the end of the month, most people might be happy some of the time.

How can this be the last week of September... I am sure I was just waiting for September to begin, and now it is ending... I think there is a song out there.. but I have been awake the whole time, I just know it.

So I found some kitchen furniture today... I am surely going to buy it. I think the latest slogan is "do not pay until 2012". That suits me just fine, and I am think I am going to do just that! I'll take the husbandman to see the high quality furniture on Friday, as it is his day off.. and I am suspecting he might just take the day off, especially since he seems to be having more bad hair days than me, and I have three and a half times more hair than him... oh, and with the knowledge that he told me he was no longer in a hurry to continue on with the kitchen, as the big stuff is now done, he will complete it at his leisure, so we continue to play the waiting game. GOD.. this is really turning out to be a waiting game I think.

Work was very nice this weekend. That is all about that. It was nice, and including that it was a good bunch to work with... yes, a hard working bunch of people... that was a bonusfilled nice.

I am having front tooth issues. It seems to just teeter on the perfect position, and then sinks back, just when I think that it will sit stable. I don't eat apples, and I do not eat carrots, for fear that it will just pop right out.

I coloured my hair the other day. I was happy with the results, not too wretchedly dark, and yet dark enough to make it look like my hair isn't full of grey, which it is, or at least I think it is. Grey hair, ick, crooked teeth, ick.... see.. I really am a fake!

I have to send yet another book back to the library tomorrow. I made it through six chapters, but it was only a two week loan. Two weeks just isn't enough.. or more of the problem is that I haven't found the time to find two weeks within that two week time frame... anyways.. I am onto another book that I special ordered, so hopefully I will have some luck with that one.

So the husbandman wasn't sure if he was up to going to do an overtime call this evening. I told him this morning that he would be fine. He told me that he would make that call once he made it out of bed, if and when he might be able to make it out of bed, and felt that he could stand. I told him he would be fine. I think I said it in a rather believable voice, as he eventually went to do the overtime job. I am highly empathetic. ( Oh really, I am .....). I should write NOW, that the underpressure kitchen prep is now past us.. and everyday I monitored the crazy husbandman for wrecked back syndrome, and everyday, despite how shitty he may have felt, stood up straight out of bed in the morning, and carried on to work. He is such a good boy... and now that the pressure of the job is over... his back has started acting up, and he looks all apishlike...I have him hot on the trail of MSM (some herbal anti-inflammatories)... as I can't have him stopping now... now that kitchen is looking all good and fancy and such....not that I am going to use it for anything.

The potatoe/ciabatta bun thing is going well. Tomorrow we will back onto baked potatoes.. I can't wait!

Well... I have a book that is waiting, make that books, many many books.. I will go read something now...

OH man... I missed the parade!

One of the good and crazy neighbours from down the street handed out flyers about two weeks ago.

The title at the top was noted as a: "First Annual Bike Parade".

Now this is exciting, what a classic event!

It was all big fun....

The sky had been blue for weeks, and with the excitement mounting for this grand event, surely the weather gods would let the parade proceed without a glitch.......

A tractor was invited, which was driven out of it's resting place in the front yard of the wonderfully crazy take out dinner man (but died just prior to the parade), a candy wielding golf cart that started on fire after the parade, a filthy (which is why it was free) bouncy castle that sounds like it was a hit, a police escort down the "whole" crescent, one fire engine that arrived late for the 3 1/2 minute parade, 180 hotdogs that were BBQ'd and eaten, with one package remaining, and 10 lost ones left on the lawn. There were balloon tosses and prizes.

Yes people .... it was quite the event for a "first annual" affair.

I missed it all, as I was at work.

Oh, and it poured with rain.

It looks like next year I will be taking a vacation day so as not to miss this grand scale event.

There's more...

The husbandman has told me that he is not putting the stove back in the kitchen until the countertops are installed. That will be on October 17th.

I have come up with the grand scheme of serving baked potatoes with almost every meal. This will be alternated with ciabatta buns on altering nights. I have a toaster oven and a very rickety little microwave to do the job. Of course I will be offering up different toppings of the day to make the baked potatoe even more fascinating.

I was talking to my very crazy neighbour yesterday and he commented that the best part of renovating their kitchen was the take out. Although now that the kitchen has been long done the renovation, the take out hasn't quite stopped. Yes I say, he is crazy.

welll since I am here..

I should probably write something.

I met Hamstersons teacher tonight. She is blond, I didn't take her for blond. She claims to be getting used to his sense of humour. She also states that the class waits for his sense of humour to arise many times during the day, so she is getting used to him.

I met the girls teacher. She is an interesting sort. Quiet & seemingly uncomfortable with a familiar face. (me). The girl quite likes her. The classroom was a bit of a boring sight, but there is time for change, afterall it is only September.

Onto other things, as the previous was just boring.....

Well folks, it is official... the husband is rather nuts. I am no longer queen of nutland, as he has reigned himself king of nutland.

The kitchen cabinets have been installed, and they are looking rather fancy. The husbandman had some complaints. The freakshow himself took apart some cabinets that were just assembled yesterday, because they were slightly crooked. He wears me out with his quirks...

AND.. even less exciting events...

The girl went to be bed earlier under a certain amount of protest. It's not that she didn't want to go to bed.. it was the fact that she had a fight with a "mop" (AKA moth), and lost the battle, it just fluffled off somewhere else, and she was convinced it was laying in wait in her room.. and was going to one by one take out her stuffed animals.

I have to say that Pip of mine looked exceptionally beautiful today. She was in a cream coloured shirt that had a slight ruggle around the neck line. Her hair was just free and blowing, with a loose part to the side. Of course she rounded off the outfit with a skirt that she has been wearing since last year, and it looked to be sitting in her drawer since last year, but really it wasn't. I noticed at the end of the day that the wrinkles had disappeared only slightly. I forgave her skirt wrinkles, because from the waist up she was looking absolutely charming.

This reminds me of an incident with beautifulness from last week. That Pip of mine had the cutest perkiest blond ponytail that one girl alone could ever own. To add to the cuteness she had on a pink T-shirt and a pink pair of shorts. Of course attached to that was a longed legged tanned single nose freckled crazy 10 year old girl. We were running late for school and decided to err on the side of caution and drive the girl to school, as she would have stopped traffic with her cuteness... I kid you not. I wished I could have been half that cute when I was her age.
No really, this is the truth......

It's late...and I have no cream... it's a PRO-D day tomorrow for the kids. I love to drink coffee on PRO-D days... I might even go to the coffee store instead....not sure why, but I am thinking that I might. OH.. and to add... I threw in a trick question to the girls grade 5 teacher... I asked her what they were working on tomorrow on the PRO-D day... she said "lots of stuff". Well there you have it folks.. once again... tax dollars at work.. doing "stuff".

I will go and rest my painful eyes, and hurting head. It's just one of those things.

I have to be awake to watch the news with my favourite weather man Mark Madriga... who told lies today, and listen to the sounds of Chris Carter the marketwatcher... you have to love global news....

Freaky Sunday

OK.

There are days that I just do not care to go to work, well I do not know this until I get there. Too many things take place, none of which happens to me, but somehow the things that go on get me involved.

I am people's sounding board.

IN some cases, like today, I am the voice of reason.

HOLY smokes I wish I wasn't.

Tensions fly high, and I am the silent party that calms the frothing seas.

People don't realize this about me... well, those that I work with that is.

Today I managed to circumvent nothing short of a mounting disaster... similar to a volcano erupting.

For now I have popped a cork on impending doom.

There will be fall out... and hopefully the waves of disaster will have lessoned by next Saturday when I return to work.

Staples, bears and other fascinating events...

I have been locked out of my computer space. Really I have. The King has had the living room locked up tight.. he has been sanding drywall this past week.

He is a workaholic. A very serious one. He is the King of workaholics, since he is the King and all.

I have a long list of details that I wish to tell, except I do not have the time to type.

I have once again killed my hands... I have been raking my backyard for days and hours. I managed to kill my back lawn, by complete accident mind you....!!!, and am having to repair it. This is perfect grass growing weather, so the task had to be completed.

The bears peaked the other night. We were there to witness it. Then last night we saw ONE bear leaving the blueberryfield, and that was it. Compare that to the nine we saw the other night, heading into the blueberry field. I think it is fascinating how solitary animals communicate with one another as this is not shear coincidence.

The kitchen is a coold shade of green. I have told the king that we will eventually turn our whole home into one large mass of green. It's like we are a forest or grove or something. I think I like green. So does the king.

I have many pictures that I should post... but then that would require me to sit here and fiddle with gadgets and things. I haven't had time for that... the freaking yard has been calling and calling and calling.... eventually I had to answer...

OK... now that I am down to a weekly update, I will go and be adventureous and hopefully will be back soon to share the events of excitement.. even if I have to take up lying.

life as of saturday....

We lived throught the school week. We even lived through a Friday night of Tae Kwon Do. Of course the evening was finished with a pizza all for the little master hamsterson himself ... just to keep him happy and not all out of sorts.

I stopped by a few homes as I was on my home after work tonight and was the street coyote crier... the cat people were happy with my observations of the little cat hunting beasts.

Bear watching was crazed! People were flying down the road from all over the place.. well that was last night.. and then tonight...it was still crazed... although it was just me and the PIP, and a family that just moved here from Richmond. We saw 8 bears... it was very exciting!

Another day... another story, of minute porportion.

  1. I got my haircut yesterday. A whole whack of hair sat on the ground after she was done. The sister noticed the shorter less bedraggled look.
  2. The girl agreed to go into a dance class. I have found one. Hopefully she will enjoy 45 minutes of hip hopping around. This is a true experiment really, as she isn't very good on her god given stilts for legs. Maybe she will learn how to use them.
  3. The walking group has moved up to 5 people. Nothing short of incredible here.
  4. I managed to get three loads of laundry on the line and dried today. It's far too incredible people.
  5. I inherited a new child's school desk this afternoon. It is lovely, and will fit in my garden perfectly. I will hide it from the husbandman who seems to think he has some sort of grandious rulings about what enters the ever improving homestead.
  6. I washed and vacuumed out the wonderful Mazda 5. The indigo blue takes some scrubbing to get it free from dirt, and an extra couple of wipes to ensure that all the dirty spots have been cleaned.
  7. I had decided to get the husbandman some hockey tickets for his birthday tomorrow. I blatently lied and told him I was talking to one of my M.S.N friends and asked him some questions about his favourite team. He said he would never go to a hockey game and pay 80$ to see it. Hmmmmm... I am having a hard time wondering what I am putting in a birthday card for him..... especially since there were supposed to be hockey tickets....my luck!
  8. The boy is pretty much refusing to go to school. He claims his teacher already hates him. He is fowl, fowl, and fowl. His other teacher from last year, yes, the one that hated him from last year will be teaching him again. I met the woman and thought she was pretty pasty faced, and even wrenched a smile when she met me in person. This is going to be a long year... what does a parent do....? I feel like emailing these two people and just saying " Oh for FUCK SAKE... give the boy some guidelines & expectations, and he will abide you; to call on him and belittle him in front of his class will only serve to upset him and continue the behaviour. I don't think I can write that.....at least I don't think I can...
  9. It's 11:00 PM, the husbandman is busily mudding the drywall and singing along to the tunes on the radio. He is scaring me.
  10. The girl and I grossed the boy out at dinner tonight by putting spaghetti sauce on our spaghetti. Yes, he was grossed out... he who puts ketchup & parmesan cheese on his.

10 + 2

Yes, 10 + 2.

10 individual bear sightings.

2 double sightings.

It was an incredible night people.

INCREDIBLE.

The most important day of the year.

It's happened today.

Parents embrace the bell that calls out to all those crazed little summer vacationers and rounds them back into the welcoming arms of school.

Although our little school didn't have welcoming arms, the Principal could barely be heard with his microphone, so who knows what he said. I feel sad for all the new parents that showed up to bring their child to the "new" school, (as their old school was closed down), and they were welcomed into a gym that was crammed with equipment that never got put away, and bleachers that acted as barricades. The year should be interesting. Perhaps I should get involved with our little school once again. NO, bad idea.

Anyways.. moving on....

We went to go and see Hair.spray on Monday. What an excellent movie.. if you like that sort of thing. It warmed the Pip and mines little heart. I don't want the soundtrack... even thought the music was very good... it just went on and on and on....

I got my new dryer yesterday... off I went with my Mazda 5 and picked it up. The friends and neighbours were skeptical. I peeshawed their crazy thoughts. Now I only wished that my new dryer worked. It doesn't. I might as well have my old dryer still in the beautiful and lovely laundry room, as it does the same thing... the drum turns, but does not generate heat. Now how psychotic do my readers think I am at this point? I have many miles of laundry to dry, and no dryer to do it.

Well... must depart.. the very huggable and tallish (as he told me this yesterday upon his return to school) Hamsterson needs a lunch for his first day of Grade 7. I asked him who was doing all the hugging... he claimed it was all girls, all the time. Say no more...

Last week...

Here we are at Labour Day, the last day of summer (as the children in Canada know it!), and I am left wondering where exactly did the summer go?

I know last week flew by:

  1. Monday... dryer shopping, and something else that I can not remember, because I can not remember. I do know that the husbandman took the night off because I actually had a friend come over. I commented on his lazy sloth-like-self, and hoped this kind of behaviour would not continue. I had to clean and dust prior to the friends arrival, as the home is full of dust, more dust than one would like to witness. I wrote a long email to the Conservation Service about the blown away bear. Also.. what goes with a full day of dryer shopping, but lost of laundry out on the line.
  2. We made it to the PNE, now that was a good day! I even did the walking group before going. (We are are up to three people now in the group... things are progressing). The children and I didn't make it home until 11:30 that night. Prior to any of this I felt obligated to doing something with wet laundry again.
  3. What's a perfect day made of if you don't have to visit the dentist first? First that, then off with the sister, myself and the four spawn to Boundary Bay for the day. This is Vancouvers best kept secret... a semi-nice beach.. and NOT CROWDED. We returned home at a nice and early 8:15. Oh, and of course more laundry line procedures.
  4. Walking group day... and the number has progressed to four people. Incredible I say.. absolutely incredible. I can't wait until I need two hands to count the number of people that are going to spilling into streets walking with us! After we were finished with walking I quickly made it home and unpacked the soft cooler, and repacked the cooler with more food. We drove up to Whistler for the day. Not that we were going to do anything up there.. we just wanted to see the progress for the 20.10 Olympics. Good luck people.. that's all I say. I will add that secret "laundry" word again.
  5. Friday was a low key day.. at least it started low key. I had to go buy light fixtures. then somehow I met up with my mom, and we did mother and daugther things. Soon my cell phone was ringing and I was flying around collecting one girl and taking her to the pool in the lovely and warm pouring rain. (There is nothing sweeter than swimming in the pouring rain in the summer... a most delectable memory of mine!). I had to rush off and buy a bath mat.. since ours kind of disintigrated, and a shower liner that has snapped somehow. Then collected the girl took her to Cost.co and Home.Depot to collect more household renoing things. Once I was home I began cutting the lawn, and fixing all the grass that I had killed.. but it was only by accident, and it was only grass... it's not like it was a black bear or anything... and then I fixed my wysteria bush that had died this spring.. (once again, I didn't kill it, and lucky for me it sprang back to life!). By this point the underwire in my bra was poking me in the armpit.. I just kept trying to reposition it. As luck would have it.. the other underwire snapped and was poking me in all locations on the right side. I just wanted to get things done, so I didn't stop working. OMG did it hurt... but when you are a woman on a mission, you just can't let underwires stop you! Since the weather man promised rain I wanted to add more grass seed to my front lawn seeding project, but first I had to pick rocks, and pull a huge weed that had infiltrated my grass growing expedition. I watered things stat, and then it was off to see the bears. Well, with the except that now my room was filled with a hugely full basket of laundry... all folded and I guess more or less dry... and I was left wondering.. did I actually do this all week?
  6. Saturday was filled with worky things. This adds to paying for the kitchen.
  7. Sunday was filled with worky things. This also adds to paying for the kitchen.
  8. Which brings us back to Monday.. and today of days I did not find myself opening my eyelids until 0900. I lie actually.. because they were open I just pretended they weren't.. I just didn't get up until 0900. Today is the last day that I will be able to have a little sleep in until the chicklets next Pro-D day... as now I am the seven day a week up early all the time kind of lady from now until next June. (with the exception of the sheduled holidays!). This will all change if I find myself a newish kind of job, but I am not in great belief that this is actually going to happen.

Must go.. more Mondayish Labourday last minute things to run off and do.... the chikclets are waiting in all their cuteness!!

Summer photos...

More of Shushwap...

I love this photo... you know the saying "it takes a village....". The girl is in the centre of the photo, as they took her out tubing.. and I just love the amount of people it took to get the boat secure, and unload the equipment, and the people.... I have saved this photo with her on her own... just a huge smile.

Same story, different day.

I applied for a new job today.

Really and seriously.

We saw six bears tonight.

Really and seriously.

Work was lovely and boring until a family member came in and started yelling and swearing at us.

Really and seriously.

He person left after he threw a chair against the wall.

Really and seriously.

It all happened with two seconds.

Really and seriously.

The last three things dont really qualify for same story different day... but it at least qualifies for a really and seriously.

I will stop now.

Really and seriously.

Tag... I'm it?

This person tagged me with one of these thingys..... she may not wait around for my answers.

What side of the heart do you draw first?
Right. I'm left-handed. More often than not one side is bigger than the other, but I might have stopped obscessing over weird things like that.. and save it for the big weirding things.

Can you dive without plugging your nose? Why dive?

What color is your phone?Pink, or kind of pink... more like a dusty rose. I might or might not get a new one... it depends how attached I am to this one, and besides it will show up in the new ultra modern kitchen that is coming my way.

Who would you want to be tied to for 24 hours? If I said anything but the husbandman that would be rude, but then if he continues to spend many hours in the boiling attic I am going to have to dream up somebody else...... I wonder if Antonio Banderous would do it for me....

Where are you right now? In the livingroom.

How do you feel about carrots? I like them firm, a good firm carrot always get my attention.

How many chairs at the dining room table? Currently none. We only have a kitchen, and there is none there at the moment either.

Who is the best Spice Girl? Who cares... now if this question was all about the Pussycat Dolls.. then I would have an answer...

Do you know what time it is? I always know what time it is, it's the date that I take issue with.

What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator? I would probably start talking to the walls immediately.

What's your favorite kind of gum? Chocolate mint.

T or F: All is fair in love and war? I don't do love.

Do you use words that you don't know the meaning to? No, I have them spoken at me... and then I must quickly scan my deteriorating memorybank to identify if I have every heard the word and then carry on as if I know what someone is saying... it gets a bit crazy inside my head very often.

Do you like to sleep? Refusing to answer COMPLETELY stupid questions!

Do you know which US states don't use Daylight Savings? Human being here... that kind of stuff is available on line at a computer near you.

Do you know the song Sugar We're Goin' Down? Yes, absolutely....... NOT.

Do you want a bright yellow '06 mustang? No, I quickly moved onto 07 before 06 had finished... why step back in time now. God.

What's something you've always wanted? Brains & Cash. And I am not talking Johnny.

Do you wear a lot of black? Always... everything about me is black, black, black. HA! Actually its black on the bottom, colour on top if you are insisting on being nosey.

Describe your hair. I don't really want to really, I could be up all night, .. I will keep the description short. Well... it's grey, enormously grey, yes.. shocking to me as well.... but you wouldn't know it, except only on the days when it is four or five different colours.. but then looking around, that's kind of the rage. It's curly and straight, and thick but maybe not as thick as when I was young... because now I am aging rapidly I don't have as much. I must not mess with it... otherwise it goes haywire, in a very bad way. It doesn't like being curly, and yet wont lay flat. It likes mousse, but not too much then it sticks out. Forget about going to bed with it wet... it wakes up slicker than slick and straighter than straight with an ugly mood to boot. It wishes to be tossled but too much makes it look all wig and witchy like, and too little gives the appearance of the " I don't give a shit look"... (which unfortunately I walk around with a little too often)I look icky without bangs, but they can not be too short as then they are poker straight. It likes conditioner but not too much, and dont' even dare try a hot oil treatment or some of that glazing stuff to stop the frizz; because then I am in for deep trouble... as it just sits on my head and will not move, sway or stagger. It likes a barrette in it, as it keeps the out of control crazy pieces in some form of order, but then just enough craziness to keep it flowing. It has it's own very scarey personality and I DO walk on eggshells to keep it happy. I say a prayer to the hair gods every night.....

Are you an adult? I have been for a little while now.

Who is/are your best friends? I have different good friends for different reasons. You have to spread yourself around, and not cut ties...

Do you have a tan? Right now yes. Number 30 eventually starts to become non workable.

Are you a television addict? Absolutely. I dislike missing favourite shows, and interestingly I dislike developing a love for certain shows.. so I keep the favourites to less than a handful... that's five in my mind .... I like reruns... especially Seinfeld, it used to be Cheers... but the hairdo's just go to dated to look at.. and then the whole Kirsty Alley thing has me freaked out.

Do you enjoy spending time with your mom? yes siree bob.

Are you a sugar freak? Well, I quit slurping out of the sugar bowl when I was young, I'll come clean on that one. I think sugar just likes me is what the problem is people....

What is your favorite movie? Is Pride and Prejudice a movie? I liked that. I am just not smart enough to keep movie titles in my head... I don't have that capacity... again... that is what the internet is for... finding lost thoughts and memories ...

What's your sign? Capricorn, although I wouldn't call it "mine".

Where do you wish you were right now?It could be many places really.... it's hard to pin point the exact location.
Who did you copy this from? As above...

How do you know them? I don't know how I stumbled across this wacky woman from the great down under... I just love the way she writes about life, but I just don't know how I found her.. and you can see from the list of links that I do not know many bloggy people.

Would you have sex with them? OK now...let's have a rationale thought here for a moment shall we.....

What brand of shirt are you wearing? I don't know.. the tag is missing, and it's really hurting my head to think about where this shirt came from...

Have you ever smoked anything? Yes, second hand smoke... I was a used smoker even before I became a smoker, so I just never bothered smoking... anything... ever.

I'm supposed to tag three people? I just learned this link magic thingy button so I will tag these people: "the go go go girl, vacationing lady & who knows where she lives in the US friend.

Good job to me I say... I have never done this before. I had know idea that linking was just so easy.

Goodnight Louie.... sweet dreams....

Louie is our friends dog.

He is crazy.

But then, so are his owners.

His owners, which are our human friends went away this week. We were asked to look after "the dog Louie" while the nephew who is actually doing the looking after of Louie, is away this weekend.

I almost thought about leaving him outside in his backyard, just so he didn't have to be locked up in the bedroom... I felt sorry for the crazy fellow. I never said anything to the King, because he wouldn't want him left outside... because you just never know what happens sometimes..

Poor Louie... the King tucked him, and said good night to him, and shut the door to their daughters bedroom, and "said" he would be back in the morning to let him out. This is Louie's routine. Everything was going along snoringly until.......

Our neighbour... who just happens to look like "char*les man*son" was wandering around last night following a black bear, and watching it eat garbage.

As I have been told... someone called the cops about the almost naked except for shorts character that looks like the above mentioned person wandering around outside somewhere after 11:20 ish....

The cop arrives. The look alike explains his actions, and then as far as anyone knows, the cop calls a conservation officer.

It doesn't get pretty from here on out...., but it wakes up a whole bunch of neighbours which brings them to the street.....

Basically... a beautiful black bear gets blown away in our vacationing friends yard. Somehow this bear climbs over crap and junk and a fence and winds up locking itself in the back yard of the vacationing neighbours, he took out a bird bath, and wire fences and unfortunately left a trail of blood splatter & droplets along the way.

Yes, it was eating garbage... but you know... we live RIGHT NEXT to a trail that connects itself to a blueberry field. But you know.. nobody seems to get that.

Five shot gun blasts, and one pistol later... and the poor thing is dragged from the vacationing friends backyard and loaded into the truck. That is conservation at it's best around here...

Our other friend who is wonderfully colourful said it very well this morning at 7:00 "Well, our idiot "char*les man*son" look alike neighbour was wandering around half naked, and since they called the conservation officers and couldn't shoot him, they managed to find a black bear instead".

I have to admit, I am extremely happy that I slept right through the shot gun blasts, as it is an extremely sad event. But, in actuality when the details of the night unfolded, the whole situation was very comical. (Meaning the neighbours, and their reactions, and the goings on of how to collect a bear, and clean blood splatter, and fix fallen planters, and sooth poor frightened Louies from out underneath the beds.. you know, that sort of stuff).

At one point the RCMP officer was not quite sure what he had stumbled across when he entered the back yard of the vacationing neighbours... as there were rail cars, telephone booths, bus stops, a pirate ship surrounding him, he wanted to know if this place was for real... the King spilled the beans about the backyard and the crazy wife being a daycare lady.

So, the girl wakes up this morning... all shaking and terrified and said she had a bad dream, and she could hear people talking and the sound of foot steps, and loud booms...

The tired sounding husbandman slowly croaks "You had a bad dream..... well I believe I lived a bad dream last night, crawl in Fuss, I have a story to tell you......"

The chewables are disappearing.

Yes, I am continuing to OD on children's chewables. They are a cross between a breath of chalk dust while cleaning board erasers and a taste of old bubblegum. Quite fascinating for reminiscing purposes!

In the meantime time my eyebulbs hurt. I should go put them to rest.

It is hard to rest the eyebulbs when you know that the husbandman is busily crawling about the attic of your home locating wires and illegal junction boxes. It freaks me out living here... it really does!

OH, he has entered the homestead once again... I might be in the clear conscious wise.

Perhaps I should go and be a good mother and put the crazy girl to bed. I would try the same on the boy, but he would just look at me and scoff. My eyebulbs hurt too much to be scoffed at.

AND... We had an alright night looking at bears, we saw three of them, three deers, and one hawk.

I must depart now.

Sights from Shushwap Lake

Trickling along...

It can not be possible that we have 11 more days of August. It doesn't seem fair to me. I haven't accomplished my "things". I have a secret list in my head of "things" that I wished to have done before September... and it seems that I have not accomplished any!

I can't even seem to accomplished writing a blog on a daily basis, and it isn't for lack of ideas to run on about.

I just found my book for my book group. I kind of misplaced it after we got back from Shushwap. I was beginning to think that I was going to have to replace the bloody thing... but alas, as I was milling about in our 1365 square foot rancher, I stumbled across it. Yae me.

I am kind of wondering if I will ever find a new job. I was feeling hopeful the other day as I applied for a job in North Van. Don't ask me why, I am totally not a city dwelling traffic monger, but I am beginning to ebb towards desperation in leaving my current position. I very much dislike being "old wood" in fresh growth, and this fresh growth is almost too fresh. I am not certain what to do. (there are many other complicated and completely boring details to divulge, which do not belong on my "all humour, all the time except for crazy ranting posts writing space" blog).

It is most disappointing at this moment in time that the girl and I can not watch a rerun from "the next pussycat doll". We loved that show! I am not entirely certain why the girl and I loved the show... it was just fun to watch, and they had these "people" that were judging the girls, and they sat with smug "look at me" attitudes while we just observed. I wonder to myself what their days consist of...

In other things of somewhat miniscule importance... I have finally dug up all the rocks in our front yard. That makes me happy... as I have never liked them EVER. We have lived here 14 years. I do not think that I do change very well.

The girl and the boy loved their first day at Sasamat Camp. It is enjoyable at the end of the day to hear the Fuss speak of her friends that she made a number of weeks ago.

It scares me to think that this week will shoot by, and then next week will be spent rushing around filling in last minute "fun things" for the summer, and that will be it... back to the grind of commitment, homework, and routine. Hopefully I will get used to it very quickly again.

I haven't even fulfilled obligations of meeting up with a number of my friends. I will have to fix this problem quickly.

I have kind of adapted to not having a kitchen now. If I can't put something together in a 23 x 23 inch space, then it just isn't happening! Of course I fail to mention that I do have my lovely, clean and sparkly nice laundryroom to manage in... but that isn't important right now. My cabinet space are the numbers listed above.

I am wondering how exactly I am going to clean after this reno has finished. My 16 year old couches have been busily attracting dust for the last 16 years, and now with the reno, I think the dust is doubling up. I have been told by the "king pin" himself that we are going to get a new carpet for the livingroom... (NO freaking kidding...!!!)... but then we will put our OLD couches back in... with a fresh paint job... some how I do not see this happening....I do see a new job in my future... in an effort to pay for all this grandness....

I continue to look for a new bag to keep my things in. I have one that does the job perfectly well, except for the safety pin that holds the side pocket together, which then holds the whole bag together so that things do not fall out. I love this bag, it is the perfect size. It's only fault is the fact that it is missing the zippery thingy.. and it isn't really worth the ten dollars that I paid for it to try and fix the problem. The sister and the mother laugh at my bag of tricks, and can not figure out why I continue to hang onto it... except for the fact that I believe that it just works for me.

I fear stepping out of my little space. The husbandman is busy screwing little yellow electrical outlets all over the place, and he will want to discuss his adventures on a grand scale with me. I fear the discussion... a lot.. kind of like paint drying sort of thing.

It's chilly out. It really is. There is a slight nip in the air that tells me that summer is no longer available until all hours of the night. I am saddened by this, and interestingly enough in April and May when the days are growing longer I am euphoric over the very same thing. This signals a time for the growing season to begin winding down, and of course it also apparent that I have ran out of flower food, which leaves the flowers with a "used" look to them.

I slipped out earlier tonight to drop off a video, and then went on to see the bears. I saw three of them, and I saw two of my friends from last year. I had thought that everyone (human and four legged) at dropped off the face of the earth.. as I have not had success in seeing anything or anybody! I was set straight by my one friend.. who informed me that they saw eleven bears last Friday night.. any guesses to where I am headed this Friday?

I absolutely can not forget to go and pick up another book that I have ordered from the library.. I have waited almost forever for it... and they only hold it for a week... I just love the title of it... "the friday night knitting club". Just the name of it makes me want to read it.

I hae a book waiting for me... I must go forge ahead....

I need some gloves quick...

I have been doing the yard work for many days now without gloves. I like gloves, they are my friends, they keep my hands all clean and sparkly.. with only dirt rings around the wrists. I have to make it back to Home Depot for 3 more stepping stones, and then I can "plant" them in the ground, the same as the other stepping stones.

I hired out my children the other day to give me a hand moving the rocks across the driveway, and removing them from our walkway. We have lived in this house for 14 years, and have never liked a rock walkway with round paving stones in the center, it just doesn't excite me to have people potentially break an ankle before arriving at my doorstep, no, not at all.

In a few years the husbandman wishes to rebuild the front of our house so that it has a much more "grandious" entrance way, with an aggregate walkway to lead up to the front door. So, in the meantime I have planted the remaining rounds stones in the grass and have to add a couple more stones to make it to the front steps. Now that the hamsterson has the ability to cut the lawn, he will be in charge of caring for trimming along the stones in an effort to keep a clean appearance.

Meanwhile... the home reno is moving along at a gentle pace. The good husbandman works his 11 hours, and then comes home and puts in his remaining 8 hours of home detailing. He has even managed to paint the outside of the house, ( he had to remove the paneling on the outside of the house to replace when he replaced the sliding doors with french doors) while also removating his kitchen. I told him he could have a day off on Christmas Day... when he cooks the turkey dinner... until then... he must. keep. working.

Todays reminder... be thankful for all that you have.

Well... off to collect stepping stones....

Late night renos.

So it's late... 12:06... and the husbandman contractor fellow just came and reported to me that he has pulled out the water line for the fridge... of course by accident.. which is why he was running to the front yard to turn off the water to the house, but I didn't see that... OK.... so Mr Completelyhandydandy husband has just created a makework project for himself. I guess it doesn't matter what time of day or night he creates this make work project, since he has to enter the crawlspace, it doesn't really matter does it?

ON a selfish note I asked him if I was required to stay up while he crawls around under the house... he said it wouldn't be a bad idea. Yes, I am complaining as I have to stay up... while he crawls around in the deep dark night...

ICK!

Williams Lake

I still have to find out what goes on there. I am not sure. I am not sure if I will ever know, but I know one thing... one of my scrapbooking buddies is leaving for Williams Lake. She got a transfer, and had 24 hours to respond, so she said "yesseree.. I am leaving this place!". Today she has a for sale sign in her front yard. She has talked about this for quite some time, as it was her dream to own some property... I failed to ask her if the outskirts of Maple Ridge or Mission still had some property for her... but she picked Williams Lake for whatever reasons... so now it is settled... she's moving on. I am happy for her, and sad at the same time. It is nice to know that people live their dreams, but it will not be without the loss of her friendship *selfish on my part actually*... but what can you do.

Trouble with reception.

I found the most interesting blog this morning.

It is nothing that I would ever put on a list of links, including I have blocked the site. Hopefully I will never have to see it again. IN doing that.. all of a sudden I could no longer publish with blogger. I had a happy little blog all ready to go... and when I blocked the site, it also seemed to block my ability to post. I am not sure what the trauma is/was, but once I unblocked the bad blog... I was able to resume activity. HMMMmmmmm.

U.B.U.

Oh, what happened to the pictures... they have come up all in a row.

I will be interested to see how they manage on the blog. This is what is left of the kitchen, an icky floor and bare walls.

I can't really type.. the hands are sore from ripping up the floor. It was glued by a glue loving home builder.

I managed to snap a photo of the contractor for this project. Here she is studying the plans. She's very hands-on this one.

Good evening people....

I don't believe I have anything interesting to say, at this moment, ... as I can always find something to say eventually, but not this moment... and I am not remotely motivated as the hand are hurting from the wicked work that was done earlier today.

Currently the husbandman is teaching the superson how to do "things" in the kitchen, which involve renovation. There is so much talking involved with getting this boy to help you. The girl on the otherhand is intrigued beyond her pinkness, and at this very moment I think the husbandman is wishing he had ilicited the blond girls helping hands for the drywall on the roof job.

Well, tomorrow is a new day, and a new array of vitamins. Yes, vitamins. I found the Costco brand of vitamins which the children have refused to eat.. so I have them by the computer and pop a couple whenever I am sitting here doing things. I should be done them in a couple of weeks as there was 365 in the bottle... and who knows what's in there now. It looks to be about 353. I had five yesterday, and five today. There are two missing... which were the ONE that I gave each child a long time ago.

Onto other things:

Well, that's a wrap.

I will find some Tylenol now.... I just have to remember which cupboard they got moved to....

The new kitchen.

This is the new kitchen. It's luxurious and fresh feeling. I can't believe I have waited so long for this!!! It also doubles as a laundry room, and as you can see, as long as I have laundry it is impossible to do dishes... oh lucky me!

From this to this.

When I left the homestead last week the kitchen still looked dated, and a cute dog still occupied the nice and lovely laundryroom. Things have gone amuck since I have been gone.... and there is still more to come.

3 smiling faces

It was a great time watching the chicklets swim like crazy people. They are now water logged crazy people.

Happy to have read this!

Life's golden ticket. A lovely book.

I found the house!

We are back from our excursion.

It was a wonderful get away from real life, except for the people that we stayed with, this was their real life.

Between Handsome Son and myself we may have taken about 200 pictures, just in case we frget a minute detail. Of course I got 20 pictures of Fussy to every 1 of Handsomeson. I can't help it.. she's just so fuss worthy!

I was impressed that I was able to find where I was going.. of course my mother was the co-pilot so she lead me in the correct direction.

I read the best book while I was there...
